I thought I knew both those things, but didn’t know “too close”, Rik. I always thought at least 30 yards. I’ll pay closer attention to all the factors you mentioned.
Glad you were still up.
Friday nights are kinda dead around here, huh?
Thanks

Is anyone playing on European servers, BTW?
Wolkie’s missing auction stuff sent to Double L was found by a GM. Don’t know what happened, but thanks to the Doper (Skammie?) who suggested I do this!
It means a lot of g’s.
Since making 80. We have been able to auction or drops and Wollkie (or just Double L) has made just over 1K for us.
Thanks

Thanks for the tips. I spent some honor points on upgrading my weakest slot (the libram, which was a mere lvl 103 item). I’ve been running a heroic daily to build up some justice points, and farming the frozen halls dungeons for items. I’m now the happy owner of Garfrost’s Two Ton Hammer, which hits much like you’d expect a two ton hammer to, and also picked up good helmet, leg armour and cloak upgrades. Got my average item lvl over 200 now.
I’m still not quite sure what to do with my justice points. I don’t want to spend them on items that will immediately become obsolete when Cataclysm comes out. In the first couple levels of Cata, what lvl items aregoing to be dropping in the world and in 5 man instances? I should be looking to buy equipment above that if I can, so it lasts a bit.
I could be wrong, but I really don’t expect T10 gear to be replaced with level 81 quest rewards. My level 70 PVP gear was usable all the way to 80, with a couple of slots replaced with quest rewards/dungeon drops along the way.
Yes, I’d be suprised as well, but it would be good to hear from someone who has played the beta. I’m thinking I should invest my justice points in more expensive items, to get proper use from them.
The Frostweave will be useful for skilling up First Aid at some point, but you’ve got a little farther to go first. After Mageweave and Heavy Mageweave bandages, you need to collect Runecloth from lvl 50-60 mobs to make Runecloth and Heavy Runecloth bandages. After that, you need to collect Netherweave from lvl 60-70 mobs to make Netherweave and Heavy Netherweave bandages. After that you can use the Frostweave.
And of course by that time, Cataclysm will be out, so you’ll have a whole new level of First Aid to learn!
There is a huge gear reset coming with cata, specially on the stamina value of items. Tier 10 is not going to last you very long at all because the mobs you will be fighting are going to be balanced around you having a whole lot more hit points than the gear you have now gives. At this point i would not spend any justice points or honor at all anymore, save them up for level 85 gear.
I think you’re right. I’ve been finding it hard to find information, but I did find find a page about quest rewards in one of the new zones. A level 81 quest was returning items in the 270-280 range.
Question is, will I be able to spend my justice points on anything useful once Cataclysm is released? I noticed someone said hero points would be the level above, but at what point does one supplant the other?
Jus remember that you cap at 4,000 honor and justice points so you might want to consider buying uncut gems and selling them once you hit max points.
You can buy level 85 blue gear with justice points, level 85 blue pvp gear with honor. For epics you’ll need hero/conquest points.
So, I’ve just come back to WoW after a month or two off, and I’m a total nOOb. Total. I had to ask the trade channel where to find my darn mounts and such. Crazy.
My hunter is now speced into MM (I was SV before). I have to relearn what all of the shots and procs do. They’re all different. Aimed Shot is a super-long casting time? Arcane is the general utility shot now? Steady returns energy? Sigh.
My DK is speced into Undead now, and that’s super confusing! There are so many strikes and they all kinda do the same thing, it seems. My armor set bonuses are all wrong now because they’re set for blood/heart strike and that’s the tanking tree now, so I don’t have those. Festering Strike and Scourge Strike and Obliterate and Death Strike are all just jumbled in my mind.
I know I can find rotations and stuff at EJ (probably), but I just want to grouse about it for a while. Grrr…
The general concept of Justice and Valor points is that Justice will buy you the gear that makes you ready to take on the current raid content (this will be 85 blues at first, then Tier 11, then Tier 12, etc.) and can be earned via heroics, while Valor is current tier gear (Tier 11 at first, then Tier 12, then Tier 13, etc.) and can only be earned by raiding.
It’s really the same as how Emblems worked in Lich King, especially in 3.2 and 3.3, except instead of adding a new Emblem for each new tier of raid content, all Valor just gets converted to Justice with each major patch, current tier gear gets converted to costing Justice points, and new gear is added that costs Valor. It’s a good deal more elegant IMO.
What’s strange about Aimed shot having a super-long cast time? That’s the way it was originally, it wasn’t until patch 3.0 it became instant.
I think Arcane Shot is supposed to be the focus dump shot but the coefficients are fubar right now, and it turned into the shot with the highest damage per focus. :dubious:
Hopefully this will be fixed in the next patch, because right now there is never any reason to cast Aimed Shot without a Master Marksman proc.
MrDibble, I’m in Europe, on Tarren Mill.
Good tip. If I hit the cap before Cataclysm I’ll probably invest in some heirlooms (the ones with XP gain), as I intend to roll a Death Knight at some point.
Thanks for clearing that up, I’ll definitely horde the points then.
Thanks, that makes sense.
Yeah, I vaguely remember that about aimed shot. I guess I never used it when it was a long-cast either. I probably just never put the point in it at all.
From the really limited playing I’ve done with my hunter it seems like we’re supposed to really concentrate on keeping SS up with either new stings or CS. Secondary to that it looks like we have to keep our eyes peeled for procs on kill shot and aimed shots. Kinda boring, really. I only picked it over SV because the wild quiver thing looked neat. Dunno. Maybe it’s not my style or something.
Whaaaat???
SFG’s been parsing me???
Is that some kind of abuse?
And can she be charged with anything, such as “Parsage of A Senior Citizen”???
;)

Closing in on my second 80 with my druid. Need only another 37%. He’s averaging over 1500 DPS overall in regular dungeons, and will be getting a couple of gear upgrades as soon as he dings, so straight to Heroics for him.
You’ll get a present, Oak!
Farming mageweave cloth at the moment. Anyone can forget Tanaris. The Dunemauls don’t give you a whole lot.
So we’re on the way to Felwood.

You should just earn gold as effectively as possible and then buy the stuff you want. Farming commodities is for chumps.
