w00t! Got in, got PoS for my random heroic, and won a greed roll on Rimefang’s Claw! Should be a nice improvement over that vibrating tank sword I got in H:ToC a while back
Finally got in and did the Ahune kill with no problems. As it was a competent group, we all requeued again, at which point the DK tank said he was just after the enchanting formula. My priest suggested he may want to find another healer then, because I’d be rolling against him on it. At this point, the warrior, pally, and mage DPS we had all linked their own respective enchanting skill, haha. Group split up after that
Does the enchanting formula show up in the group loot (like the cloaks) or in your bag (like the pet)?
Looted from the chest like the cloaks.
Finally got all 4 bosses in Halls of Stone or High Father or whatever they’re called) Thought that was a particularly hard one to tank due to roaming mobs / mobs running round all over the place. 83% to 79 now and 32 emblems. should be able to make 80 this weekend, depeding on time.
You and me both buddy…and the GF was out for an extra 4 hours yesterday…of course, servers didn’t come back up for me till after bedtime, so I didn’t even get to log in. And I’m 9 frost away from my trinket!
Got my Ahune kill yesterday - the group was all people who hadn’t done it before, so naturally everyone tried to rush the boss at first and we had a wipe as people got bounced all over the map and I couldn’t get 'em in range to heal 'em; once we stopped and sorted things out, the second go-around was easy. I’m very glad to have the extra 2 frosties a day; might even be able to get a full set of T10 before Cataclysm renders it obsolete.
Had some weird issues after finally logging in last night – one of my addons is giving me an error message (haven’t figured out which one) and twice I got an “out of storage space” or somesuch error that shut down WoW completely - a reboot fixed that issue, but it’s weird to happen on an almost brand new machine.
After that, a quick Ahune run for the emblems and then a very quick HoL run and that’s all I had time for.
Burning Doggie reminder: weekly alt run tonight, 9:00 server time. Looking for a full guildie group so we can run Arcatraz.
I’m getting concerned. I tried logging in today and got the same issue as last night. The problem isn’t that the login server is rejecting me; rather, the instant I hit enter after entering my login info it tells me there was a problem logging in. The response is so fast that I think it must be a local issue. Something’s either wrong with the OS or the patch.
Oh well. Today looks like a short work day, so hopefully I can spend some time puzzling this out tonight without losing a lot of play time.
Have you tried logging in to your battle.net account elsewhere (eg on Blizzard’s web site)?
Bosstone, do you have the same issue with all chars? If it’s only with one, do Ye Good Olde Delete Cache thing and if that doesn’t work, use a different char to open a ticket for the blocked one (it’s a bad save, a GM will be able to teleport the char to another location, cleaning the save).
Not yet, I’ll try that when I can.
It’s not a question of characters. I’m at the login screen, you know, with the username, password, and authenticator fields. I enter them all in, press Log In, and an instant error message comes up. It doesn’t even attempt to contact the authentication server or send me to character selection. So, local problem. I’m suspecting a bad patch, but I’ll have to investigate more thoroughly when I have a chance. I didn’t look into it last night because I was assuming the usual patch day wonkiness.
Moobird is ready, but the time is a little tight, I’ll be on hopefully by then, but if not then probably no more than 10 minutes later.
Sucks, Bosstone, I hope you can get it fixed soon.
I’m supposed to get my router “within the next 48 hours” but they apparently send it to my house, certified delivery, which sounds like I’ll be getting a note from the postman saying “I didn’t find you at home” and then be opening the Post Office on Saturday, trying to keep my mouse hand from twitching… for some reason, Spanish phone companies have stopped having the option of picking up a router in their stores. Home delivery may be nice for people with a stay-at-home Mom, but mine is 897km away (very much stay-[del]at-home[/del]out-in-the-street-all-day, too).
Yesterday was pretty well crap, as far as getting anything done in WoW was concerned. Well, the one bright spot was that my random was H-HoR, and I finally got that stupid “We’re Not Retreating” achievement. Yes, that’s right: I didn’t get it until *after *I’d fully cleared ICC10 and 25 on regular and 3/4 of the bosses on Heroic to boot. :smack:
Grats!
Don’t forget: the scythe *only *drops out of the goodie bag you get for your first run of the day.
Never heard it here, either. And what achievement could he possibly have cared about?
This is probably a bad time of year to try for it, since people are already on the alert for any opposite-faction players in the capital cities. Of course, it could potentially work in your favor, if they’re mainly congregating by the fire.
If you’re the last person left in the group, you don’t get a cooldown. You also don’t get a cooldown if you get kicked. So, either wait until everyone else has already bailed, or force the group to kick you.
(I’m also reasonably sure that you don’t get an extra CD if you leave after that first 15-min timer is up.)
“Something fucked up with the implementation of this huge change to battle.net.” What more detail do you really need to know? Any of the technical details would be above the heads of 99.9% of the WoW population.
Yeah, there’s one encounter in HoS that’s a real pain at-level (and still requires quite a bit of work even now that I massively overgear Heroics), which is the Tribunal of the Ages encounter. I’m guessing that’s the one you’re talking about, where you’re defending Brann from all of the adds that keep spawning and running in.
Actually, T10 should get you most–if not all–of the way to the first Cata raid. I know I got a good chunk of the way to 80 before I replaced my TBC epics, and they were mostly T4-level. I think people in full T6 didn’t start replacing much of anything until Naxx.
I’d have to go digging through blue-name posts and I don’t feel like it right now, but I recall someone saying something about high-end raiding pieces lasting until about level 83.
Frankly, considering the itemization shifts, I think people are going to be convinced to throw their gear away quickly, if only because of the sheer increase in Stamina for most people.
We still don’t know how the itemization on our current gear will change, though. Really, it’s one of those things that we can’t be sure about until the expansion is live on the servers. Given that the initial Cata gear will be tuned for people coming straight out of level 80, though, it’s certain that T10 will not be immediately replaced.
Yeah, but I really doubt they’re just going to do a straight increase in Stamina.
Hellfire Peninsula is always tricky coming in, because there was a marked upward shift in Stamina between classic and BC, and until you get some basic Outland gear you’re pretty easy to kill even in HFP.
Well, in any case it will be the first time I’ve gone through the process of replacing within a few weeks gear that I’d taken months to accumulate; I know it’s all part of the cycle of life and all, but still…
1.) You’re considering from a perspective of coming into Outland in basic old-world gear. Whereas T10 going into Cata would be the equivalent to coming in to TBC wearing Naxx40 gear. Not remotely the same. Initial Cata blues and greens will be designed to be upgrades from late Wrath blues and greens. Not from top-tier Wrath epics (or even low-level Wrath epics). The expansion transition has to be built for the people who will level after us; they’ll be expected to jump straight from leveling in Northrend to the next expansion’s zones, without taking the time to run Wrath raids to gear up. And there is a *huuuuuuuuge *gap between ilvl200 blues and ilvl258-277 purples.
2.) Because of the complete change in itemization, we can’t really say what will happen to our current gear. At all. Maybe the Stam will change; maybe it won’t. This complete itemization shift is something we’ve never seen before. They’ve changed what stats classes use in the past, but they’ve never completely removed some from allocation on gear before. Whole new ballgame.
