Word on trade chat is that it happens every 3 hours and lasts for one hour. I’m not sure if it alternates from Org/TB to UC/SM and their respective Ally cities but I guess I’ll find out in 3 hours.
Apparently you have to be present while the invasion is going on to have access to the portals that open up the mini bosses, you can queue for them through the LFD finder as well. If you clear both cities you get 4 bosses, if you clear only one you get 2 bosses. There’s also a quest that you pick up when you enter that asks you to defeat the boss and there’s an achievement for turning it in as well. That’s all I really know so far. I’m sure MMO Champ and WoWhead will have more info up later.
If you’re stockpiling it for First Aid, no, she’s not talking about you. She means the reputation turn-ins…for each faction in your main faction (i.e., Stormwind, Darnassus, Ironforge and Exodar for Alliance, and Orgrimmar, Undercity, Thunder Bluff and Silvermoon for Horde), there’s a cloth quartermaster who accepts cloth turn-ins to increase your reputation with that subfaction. Each one asks for 60 wool first, then 60 silk, then 60 mageweave, then 60 runecloth. After that, you can turn in runecloth repeatedly in (I think) stacks of 20. Each turn-in gives you a set amount of reputation with the subfaction that the particular quartermaster belongs to.
I wouldn’t worry about that, though, since it IS going away as of 12/7, and they’ll have the tabards to earn reputation.
If this is occuring on your druid, then druid form is equivalent to dead form, by some bizarre accident of coding. Drop to your normal caster form and teleport to your heart’s content.
I’m having minor hernia surgery tomorrow (yaaaaaaaaay!). I pretty much live in my bedroom in the house I share with a couple other guys, so that’s where my computer is, and it’s upstairs. So depending on how soon I can climb stairs after the surgery, I may be incommunicado for a day or two.
Why don’t you get them to rig up one of those things that they drag behind horses in the old westerns, lay you on it, hook it around the upper bannister post with a chain and then pull you upstairs?

The zombie event was by far my favorite. In the major cities though I noticed that they had posted cleansing npcs around the city to take off the debuff. I didn’t think they implemented that until later - too many players creating problems (cough me).
The BC event was the world boss (Doomlord Kazzak I think), would stand outside the major city gates with his hellhounds and wreak havoc. I was pretty young then and low level so I don’t remember what more there was to it. I do remember the Youtube video - search for “wow kazzak kills stormwind”. Apparently this video was taken before they tethered the boss to the gates and in it, he charges throughout the city killing everything with his shadowbolts. It’s hilarious.
AFAIK, lots of prep work and a few bug-fixes. Lots and lots of Shattering data, apparently, so that they can just go boom and not have tons of down-time on patch day (hopefully).

You know, if they (Blizz) are gonna pull this shit (what’s going on in SW NOW), they oughta take into consideration the amount of cock-sucking, lung-butter eating LATENCY it causes! I’m just trying to catch a lift to fucking Menethil Harbor, and I can’t even get out of SW!!!
