Then swim up the coast to Westfall? I’m not sure that’s quicker.
Unless the Shattering has ruined Stranglethorn’s path from the cape to Duskwood, it’s always been pretty safe to travel. It’s long but not really dangerous, and less troublesome than Dustwallow Marsh.
Just to confirm. The boat at Ratchet is still there. Ratchet is pretty much the same as before.
The path is still there.
I haven’t gotten there myself, yet. I’ve been grinding out the Horde North Stranglethorn quest chains recently, and just now getting to the Cape quests.
“Why?”, you may ask? Goblin Trike mounts! (Which I finally got last night, after the few North STV Bilgewater Cartel rep quests plus much Heroic instancing with the goblin rep tabard).
Anyway, cool area. I wound up redoing a crapton of STV quests I’ve done before, because of how the Cata patch re-issued the quest chains.
The Zul’Gurub baby raptor chain was very cool. I don’t think I’ve seen the end of that sequence, yet. I’m looking forward to killing Mandokir again.
Yeah, but at the border between Northern STV and the Cape it’s pretty sketchy.
I get the impression that this is adhemar’s first character, though. If that’s the case, he/she probably has no idea where Theramore is or how to get there. It would require running south through Darkshore and into Ashenvale, finding the path from there into Stonetalon, and then negotiating Stonetalon (even more difficult and confusing than before), surviving a run across Southern Barrens to Northwatch, and then running along the coast through level 35-37 murlocs in Dustwallow Marsh.
It could take all week.
Today I discovered the existence of Mr. Bigglesworth, Kel’Thuzad’s kitty. The WowHead comments for him are freakin’ hilarious.
Finally finished our backfill on ICC25 achievements, so I have my Icebound Frostbrood Vanquisher now! Helluva way to break my bad luck with meta mounts: ICC10, Uld25, and ICC25 all completed now. ![]()
I’m absolutely gleeful about the expanded stable for Hunters. I took my BDL toon out taming to celebrate. She now has a dog from SM, the purple plaguehound rarespawn from Tirisfal, the white (gray?) rarespawn fox from Loch Modan, one of the undead vultures you can tame during a quest in WPL, and the bright-green-and-orange-striped tiger you can tame during a quest in Ferelas.
I love the new “specials” you get for bears (they sleep), birds (they do a loop), and foxes (they dance).
Awesome new feature–thanks for pointing it out! I’ll have to try it when I get home.
That’s craziness! Everybody knows unemployment is the *best *time to sit in WoW all day. ![]()
The economy is what really kills me. I couldn’t even find a single Certificate of Ownership to fix my new tiger’s name from Cantaloupe to Cataloupe. ![]()
Speaking of which: does anybody have a scribe who can make one if I hook you up with mats?
The version I’m familiar with deals with a woman who went on a vacation to South America. When she returned, she told her blond sister all about it, including how she slept with a Brazilian. Her blond sister replied, “OMG you slut! How many is a brazilian?!”
You know the pets are BOE, right? You should be able to find them on the AH, no problem. At least, you used to be able to.
Congrats, and good luck!
1.) I haven’t seen him around here much lately, but **Daed **plays a mean Resto Druid and may be able to give you some specific guidance.
2.) Coordinating heals is important. You should be running addons that will let you see each other’s incoming heals. If somebody can see a heal coming in, they shouldn’t start casting another one unless the person really is about to die. Heal sniping is wasteful.
Oh man, I want a pet with a Cute Attack now. Woudln’t that be awesome!
And that’s the important thing!
Hope she’s okay!
FWIW, Gatherer should do that, too. On my minimap, ore is red and herbs are green. The only way it wouldn’t work is if you use the Wowhead DB and have it set to tint anonymous nodes red–that would override the normal color.
Portals usually can’t be used cross faction. E.g., Alliance can’t use the teleportation orb between UC and SM.
I think that’s pretty much the point. Linking it for no reason. Or every reason.
Ah, there’s your problem. I’m betting you logged off in Auberdine, which then sent you to the new town north of there when it was destroyed. Really, opening a ticket might not be such a bad idea. They could probably at least port you back to Stormwind.
STV not dangerous for lowbies? It was the last time I tried to run through it to get to BB. Swimming from Westfall is IME a lot faster than trying to do a corpse run.
Grid does show incoming heals, but it’s not currently set up to differentiate between my and others’ heals, and in the heat of things I don’t always notice that my 9.9k Nourish suddenly became 20.4k.
On Cairne? Darland (my DK) can make one for you. I hope to be on tonight, but if not certainly will be over the weekend.
My favorite moment regarding him was taking out my Lil’ K.T. mini-pet and following Mr. Bigglesworth around.
Lil’ KT will occasionally kill nearby Critters, you see. ![]()
Sadly, there’s no special reaction if you make the teeny version of Kel-Thuzad Ice Block his favored pet to death.
It’s a relative thing. The STV run has to be easier and safer than trying to run a level 17 down to Theramore, which was the other option we were discussing. Ideally, the guy will be on Elune or another server where we can muster up a friendly Doper mage to port him back to civilization.
Alternately, if no one has a mage there, someone with time to kill could level an Alliance DK (the 55->58 jump doesn’t take long if you’ve done it before) and escort him somewhere safe.
Or someone who is there on Alliance and has a ground mount that can transport passengers could do it.
What server is he on, anyway?
Does anyone know if we will accumulate justice points while leveling (like while running non-heroic dungeons)?
In other words, is it worth it to get capped (at 4,000) before Tuesday?
Oh yeah, but the economy tanked on my server and I’m not making much money. They’re going for 800g on my server and I’d rather do the quests and make money on the side too.
I’m sad because any of the yellow gems that are actually useful for a hunter aren’t on the AH on my server. ![]()
Only once daily.
Any of y’all remember that Insane Ghoul in Duskwood, from whom you need to retrieve Blind Mary’s looking glass? And you know how you now get a portrait and a description of named mobs when you take the quest? Well, this guy’s description is awesome:
That’s right, Insane Ghoul is insane.
![]()
Also, I’m getting pissed at the way I keep typing “insance” every time I try to type “insane”.
I fell in on my Paladin the other day, trying to get to Wailing Caverns. I couldn’t see any way out, so started lava-walking, healing myself in between, hoping to get to the end. Felt really stupid, and assumed that there were Horde teenagers uptop laughing at me. <rightfully, if so!> Suddenly a Rogue drops out of the sky in front of me, and now we’re both stuck. So we lava-hopped…me going first, healing her as she ran across…then we came to a huge wad of lava, with what looked like the end on the other side. I ran it, LoH’ing my butt, planning to heal the rogue over after…but the other side was…slippery. Impossible to get up. An unmistakeable and unforgiveable tease.
After we died and spirit-rezzed <no rez illness, which was…the least Blizz could do, damnit
> we laughed and went our ways. I went to the edge and looked down at where we were, and that wasn’t the end at all, we would have had more to go, so it was just funny.
I went afk looking into that pit.
I came back half dead, apparantly mid-combat with some mob I couldn’t see because I was HALFWAY DOWN THE CLIFF, somehow pushed by the stupid mob. Apparantly the mobs also have a sense of humour. :dubious:
It’s definitely worth checking out the changes all over the world. Admittedly, it might be more fun to do it on an actually levelling toon rather than just rampaging around on an 80, but…
I just ran across Theldurin the Lost, in Badlands.
All I can say is…do the quest. Just do the quest.
And I dare you not to think ‘CHUCK NORRIS!’ all the way through it.
I am on Fizzcrank.
The flight point at Lor’Danel tells me that I don’t have any points connected to it so it won’t let me register
This is my first character and I don’t think at level 17 I can run through a swamp of murlocs.. I may have to leave her in storage until later if I can’t find a solution.
How do you petition the powers that be for a boon such as this?
side note: Adhemar was a Bishop from England who fought in the crusades so in a sense he was a Paladin. It was the name of a character (Paladin) created for a Diablo 2 group of all Paladins in a tounament. I used it here on SD because I thought it was cool but I am a girl .![]()
Thanks for trying to help me.
