I hate to download the whole client anew if I don’t have to. I’m hoping we already had most of the expac pushed to us already and this is all I really need.

My Draenei pally’s beautiful warhorse turned into a lumbering not-quite-Elephant! My other two Draenei ride a ram and a tiger – and I went to the trouble of getting Exalted with IF and Darn – for the specific reason that Eleks suck! (IMHO, YMMV, etc).
Sad pally. 
Oh yes. Saw it as Alliance in Arathi Highlands, and in the Western Plaguelands at whatzit, the town starting with “A” that’s getting re-built.
Should be – the big stuff cam pre-Cataclysm and that’s the last bit. (Hehe… 800 MB isn’t the “big stuff”… I remember when games came on floppy discs…)
Gaaaah! It keeps disconnecting me from the server! Four times I’ve tried to start this goblin and four times I’ve been disconnected before I can even set up my UI!
Is this just me or is this a problem tonight? I’m on Garrosh.
I just checked out the newly Horde-OK Troll area in Hinterlands - there are (now?) two Revantusk Watchers there along with the merchant/questgivers, lvl 40, and tagged as PvP. The Vilebranch trolls in the adjoining temple are still hostile to my troll priestess, and the nearby questgivers talk about making war on the evil Vilebranch.
Okay, it’s definitely an add-on that’s causing the disconnects. I disabled them all and got in no problem (and got Old World Flying, too!). Now I just have to figure out which one…
“Escape from the Catacombs” (in Eversong):
I got her out of the cage, we ran around and killed a few of the enemy, and then I found the way out, thinking she was behind me?
Didn’t see a “complete” in the quest log, but at that time i was already on my way to a quest “next door”, so I thought I’d failed. Oh well.
Well, about 5-8 min later, I got a message that “Escape from Catacombs” had failed.
Huh!
Poor kid. She was probably frantic, running around fighting all those bad guys, wondering what had happened to Usum’, but I thought she’d be following…

With quests like that, Quasi, the NPCs often have a set route that they are going to take. Your job is to follow them and protect them from anything that attacks. Eventually they will lead you to the exit or quest completion point. Try again, releasing the npc and then waiting to see what she does. If she sets out in any direction, just stick with her. If she doesn’t go anywhere on her own, then you probably have to lead her to the exit. Just go slow and check frequently to see that she is following.
Thanks, Oak. I remember when I first freed her, she said she wanted to take the hallway to the right (or something to that effect). Well we did that, killed a bunch and then she just kinda walked off on her own (in keeping with what you said about her having a set route, and just being a woman in general).
We were getting the kills, so I guess I should have stayed with her instead of getting in a hurry to move on to the next quest (in keeping with me and Usum’ bein’ guys and all).

Hey, wandering women are no worse than the men you have to try to save; they start fights with every living critter nearby, going out of their WAY to pick a fight with NPCs that would normally leave you alone.
AND they won’t ask for directions, hrmph.
Yeah, I’ve never understood why anyone buys the boxes anymore, unless it’s a Collector’s edition or something. All that’s on the disk is a little shortcut that takes you to the website and starts…downloading it all. 
Not that I’m complaining; I think I still have 12 or 15 EQ discs still around, and that’s from before Luclin. :eek:
Having now played about halfway through both the goblin and worgen starting areas, I have to say that I really like Cataclysm!
Wasn’t there a quest in beta in the goblin starting zone where you had to kill your boyfriend/girlfriend and the girl/guy he/she was cheating on you with? Did they remove that before release or did I just miss it somehow?
Among today’s hotfixes is one that make me very happy:
• The droprate on the Precious Locket from Royal Monkfish in Stormwind waters for the Fishing daily quest “Big Gulp” has been increased.
Last time my paladin did this, she ended up with 47 fish, 7 sets of Rusty Keys, and 5 Slimy Rings before the Precious Locket finally appeared. OTOH, my mage has gotten the locket within 3 casts every time she’s done the quest. Go figure.
ETA: Somebody complained about this quest on the official boards, saying, “I didn’t realize that the term ‘Daily Quest’ meant it was going to take all day to complete.”

Oh, and about the SW cooking daily quest that requires you to “obtain” 5 catfish, with the questgiver slyly suggesting that you steal them from the fishermen scattered around the city … anybody else who plays a paladin (or a priest) have a problem with that quest? Stealing just isn’t something your traditional paladin is going to do. I was pleased to discover that, as an alternative, the required fish can also be fished out of the lake, and my paladin chooses to get them that way, even if it does take a bit longer. And when she turns the quest in and the questgiver asks, “Were you able to steal the fish?” she informs him, “Absolutely not! I caught them myself! What do you take me for?”

Also managed [Beware of the ‘Unbeatable’ Pterodactyl]. I surprised myself by “mastering” the odd flying fairly easily.
Boo pushed hard to get to level 20 on my Worgen rogue so I could run like a doggy and do the class quest for the sweet dagger but when I handed in Make Contact with SI: 7 it bugged out saying I ‘Do not meet the Requirements for this quest’. It was late so left it there but for any other new rogues it seems you need to speak to this NPC Lord Tony Romano to get the quest though I haven’t done this myself yet, will try later.
Also hit a spot in Mount Hyjal on my 'lock where all the quests dried up after killing the dragon - it was jarring as the rest of the quest flow had been handled so well up to that point. Guildies told me where to go thankfully.
Anyone else had issues with the new Armory not updating? Not one of my characters has an image and all the data is at least 4 days old.
It’s still there. That jerk Chip Endale turned against my lil’ goblin shaman, got busy with Candy Cane, and went over to the Trade Prince’s side, so I think he had it coming.
Was it before or after you left Kezan?
Whoo-hoo! 1 1/2 more levels and I can buy my chicken! I watched one of those things as they passed me in Silver Moon City last night, and boy, that looks like a rough ride.

After - it’s one of the last things you do during the whole intro quest line.
Also - tanked my first cata instance (Stone Core) - kind of an annoying pug, although admittedly I was the clueless-tank-who-went-too-slow. One of the DPS’s got kind of impatient and was pulling stuff to me when I’d stop to get my bearings; on the other hand, he switched to backup heals very quickly on the last boss when the healer went down, so that kind of made up for it. We wiped once, on the first boss, when I didn’t know to pick up a swarm of adds who ended up mugging the healer.
