Worst that can happen is you drop and requeue again. No use in wasting your time (and blowing gold on repair bills).
Woo! Additional bonus: chant mats have no deposit costs on the AH, so you can relist them as many times as you like without losing any money if they don’t sell.
Oh yeah, I know. It’s mainly that I’m thinking “quick run”, and HoR is about the farthest thing from “quick” - especially when I’m tired and don’t have the mental energy to focus in there. So I hope whatever other instance I’m in will be quick … and of course you don’t always know right away just how bad it’s gonna get - who forsees five wipes in a non-ICC heroic
As it happens, my pally got Old Kingdom again tonight, but with a fairly competent group this time and it went pretty darn quick. Tank was clever enough to just run right past Jedoga on the way to the last boss
Then I queued up my mage for Ahune, and got a completely inept group that eventually wiped long past the time Ahune should have been dead already. So I bailed after the one wipe, requeued, and got in with a good group that finished it quickly. Then it was heroic time, and of course she got Forge of Souls, my absolute least favorite heroic on my mage. I ended up bailing very quickly on that one, after the second trash pull. The DK tank lost aggro on one of those giant skeletons on the very first trash pull, and it went straight for the healer, of course. We somehow mostly survived that with only one of the DPS (a rogue, I think) getting killed. Then during the second trash pull the other DK in the group inspected the tank and said, “Um, dude, you’re in totally the wrong spec for tanking and aren’t even geared for tanking. Please leave the group.” This precipitated an argument between the 2 DKs about whether Blood or Frost is the proper spec for tanking (I can’t remember which was supposed to be which), and meanwhile the rest of us made it pretty clear to this “tank” that we weren’t going any further with him. Then I just decided I didn’t have time to wait the guy out and dropped, and I think the healer was right behind me.
After that, I just logged out. I’m getting pretty darned discouraged over the fact that over 90% of the random groups I get on Friday nights are complete fail.
Wow. Seems like you’d have to work to wipe on Ahune. Full 79s, a tank in DPS spec, that kind of thing. Hell, WoW crashed in the middle of my Ahune run today and the team didn’t die in the time it took me to reload. And I was the healer. My Druid buddy just went from Moonkin to throwing out heals until I got back.
Yeah, it was weird. The non-elite spawns just kept coming, and kept coming, and kept coming, and somehow it apparently didn’t occur to anybody to attack Ahune himself. Or something. I don’t know exactly what happened. It just went on for a very long time, and then we all died.
Anyone use Heal Bot? I made a Shaman who I’d like to be a healer but I cannot figure out how to get Heal Bot 2 v.3.8.1 to work. I’m pretty sure I installed it correctly but I can’t even find instructions on how to turn it on.
Odesio
Not sure what version I’m using. Assuming the add-on is turned on, there should be a little circle with a stylized H on the edge of your minimap - clicking that brings up the Healbot menu. If you don’t see that, I don’t know what to tell you except to try reinstalling etc.
I was in a group that wiped on Ahune because they didn’t know the fight, were all or mostly melee types, and all kept trying to run in and kill the boss.
Yeah, if you don’t have Ahune down by the end of his 2nd withdrawal phase, you’re very likely to be overwhelmed by adds the next time around, unless both your tank and healer are stellar.
Are those adds more of those “no aggro table” things? Because I’ve not yet seen a tank who can manage to keep them all in one place. Which of course make it a nightmare for my mage because I can’t count on my AoE spells actually hitting anything. Actually, it’s no picnic on my paladin, either, cuz I have to chase them all over the place.
It’s more because they’re continually spawning, so you’re always having enemies with zero threat join the fight. Because a healer’s threat is spread among all aggressive enemies, they usually pop in immediately hungry for the healer, or else a DPSer like a mage who’s doing AOE damage. The tank has to keep picking up the adds, which is not what tanks are used to (diving into a static spawn and generating a ton of threat right off the bat).
Okay, someone tell me the etiquette on raid icons. I like to mark the tank with the purple diamond, because it can be hard to find him in the mob. Usually there isn’t an issue, but today the healer told me to stop it. When I said I did it to keep the tank in sight, the tank added the skull icon on himself for a minute then took it off.
Is it marking the tank at all that is the issue? Does the purple diamond have some sort of other meaning? Is there an addon that can do the same/similar thing but just for me instead of the whole party?
Cast lesser heal on the tank until you’re done instance. At 16, cast heal on the tank until you’re done the instance. That’ll get you to level 55, no worries. Seriously, healing is the easiest role.
… some of my quests are giving 2 % points XP again! Because of that, me and da Wolk’ are 18% on the way to level 74. I’ve seen an instance over in HF that we can’t enter yet, so I’m looking forward to that as well!
Did they change rage gen? The last time I played a healing class and actually grouped, warriors needed to BE hit to generate their optimum rage. I remember reading that shielding the warrior or bear was a bad thing because of that.
