Much easier to bind your misdirect using clique, tho, at least for me: it works on multitank situations like raids or 1.tank going splat and the retridin remembering he wears plate.
I wouldn’t get clique only for it, but since I got it for the healer…
lizardling, my guild doesn’t have multiple teams but we have multiple runs; we use GEM to sign up and then have a “tag and flag” system where people get priority on 2nd or 3rd runs based on different things. For example, if you were asked to switch chars on day 1 and a similar switch is needed on day 2, the leader will try to ask someone else rather than you; if you have made it clear that you’re going for “giggles and hugs”, you may be asked to let someone who’s gearing up in, but it won’t happen twice in a same week, etc. And of course we also have people with the brain to not sign up for a “day 1” if they’ve already started that raid with another guild, a PUG, etc.
The general assumption is that people want to play the char they’ve signed up with and the spec they’ve signed up with; I’m a bit of an exception in that if I’m coming as “pure DPS” I’d rather bring the hunter than the priest, although I usually sign up with the priest (as healer).
I managed to get my priest setup again in time to do my randoms and the Burning Dog Raid, but I’m not looking forward to reconfiguring my other alts. And I’ll have to scan the AH more frequently for a while.
