My rogue is now level 78, should hit 79 today, I gained half a level grinding leather in Zul’Drak. I had forgotten just how much leather you need to get those last 30 points of leatherworking. The Gundrak raptor must be an endangered species by now even though I bought considerable portion of the leather I needed off the AH, and I still need a whole lot more to actually craft the gear I need at 80.
It’s coming from DBM. You have until the end of the cast to stop attacking, so no worries there. You can watch for the (de)buff or see if you can see the DBM timer. Also, depending on how geared the group is (specifically the person mirrored and/or the healer), you may be able to keep DPSing through it, at least gently.
24-hour maintenance is for the listed realms, which should be a different group from the last 24-hour list. Regular several-hour Tuesday-morning maintenance is for everybody else.
Most of the time, DBM throws up the timer off to one side of my screen, then moves it to the middle for the last couple seconds. But it’s not giving me anything on this fight, other than the initial notice. Weird.
ICC25 Sunday night… I hate Putricide. Hate. As in I never want to see that boss again. Plus Dreamwalker dropped that shiney tanking necklace, too bad I was on my shaman again. At least I was able to giggle at getting back to back to back 80k+ healing wave crits, man that’s a fun fight to heal.
I’m hoping that our 10 man reset the lockout for ICC10. As much as I’d like to spend 3 hours getting Sindragosa and the LK down, I won’t turn down quick and easy badges either.
I’ve been playing around with DXE a bit and I think I like it. It’ll take a bit of getting used to, but I think in the long run it’ll be better, for me at least. Still configuring all the sound alerts, on quite a few fights I hadn’t fully configured there were times when I was wondering why this murloc was gurgling at me or why is this beeping at me?
Happened to me last night during our BDL raid. I have the C’Thun “You. Will. Die.” sound file bound to all the enrage timers in ICC… but not in ToC where we were. So when Icehowl turned around and unleashed his frost breath I hear “You. Will. Die.” and started wondering how he had enraged.
Also picked up Quartz so I’ll have a better cast timer on my screen. Still figuring out where to put the thing so it doesn’t over lap all the other bars on my screen.
Paladin dinged 77 yesterday. One more level and I can start farming for those Ahune cloaks.
It is nice, and it seems a lot more responsive than DBM. I suspect that’s because it uses a lot more sound alerts than DBM does, but I found I could react to stuff in ICC better with DXE than DBM.
Yeah, first thing I did was take out the sound that’s the same as my “low health” warning in MSBT. One of these days, I mean to write down what I have all the different alert noises set to and really customize the hell out of it. But for now, I’m too lazy.

Lol. Yeah… Putricide really needs better focus from everyone involved. So much avoidable damage being eaten (not to mention at least one person running directly at the Gas Cloud… :smack:). And by the last attempt I was getting so f’in annoyed with driving the A-Bom that I fell behind on eating the ooze. Fail.
But yeah, that tanking neck looks pretty good on ol’ Darland.
I can pretty much guarantee it will be. We need to get more people using it at least for PP since it will put up arrows and distances to tell you how to avoid Malleable Goo.
Apparently I’ve also been voluntold as the ‘Talking To People Guy’, so now I get to buttonhole various people we’ve raided with and finish nailing down organization for the teams we’re going to be running, complete with negotiating personalities and so on. Joy.
As for Mirrored Soul, you could also watch to see when the glowy cord connecting you and the boss ends.
Now that I have my priest kitted out, I’ve been running my pally around the fires and managed to get 3 levels with Kalimdor and most of EK. That just leaves me with the dailies and extinguishing the dorf zones. Very nice XP gain, that. I’ll also need to hit up the AH and see what I can kit him out in suitable for OL. (He is also a bit of a dork, I fear – likes to play the thickhead)
I’m still not quite sure what a lvl 60 prot pally does since they don’t have all the tools yet – Avenger Shield > Cons > Judge > Holy Wrath > HoJ, lather rinse repeat? Also, do I care about using Art of War procs for insta-Exorcisms when attempting to tank? I’m thinking I would stick BoSanc on myself and then judge Wis? Finally +def doesn’t show up until NR gear for the most part?
I tended to throw an exorcism in on the initial pull (after the shield); also, since at level 60 you’ll probably be tanking for a couple new DKs, you can expect to be using your down cycles to taunt things off of them anyway when they pull aggro off of you. I also usually used the Seal of Give Me More Mana, though it wasn’t always necessary.
There’s a fair amount of +def gear to be found, even in the blues that drop in the early instances. Also, lots and lots of gem slots.
Huh. Outlands are bigger than I thought. I think I need to start moving around a bit more. I’m at 69 and the only sections of it I’ve quested in are Hellfire Peninsula and Terokkar Forest. Reading up on my lore like I mentioned earlier in the thread made me realize I need to haul ass to Netherstorm soon, and I thought it was the only place left in Outlands, because I mean, I’m 69 and still have quests in Terokkar to finish up. But there’s a lot more left for me to poke at.
Yeah, they reduced the xp needed to level from 60-70 considerably after Wrath came out, with the result that only completists (and achievement seekers) actually quest through more than a couple zones.
Yeah, it’s ridiculously easy to fly through Outlands, especially now that you can fly in Outlands If you’re conscientious and do all the quests in Hellfire and Terokkar or Zangarmarsh, and you do the dungeons, and especially if you have heirlooms, you’ll be ready for Northrend before you know it.
IMO, at 69, if you have WotLK, you should just haul your butt out to Northrend already. You’ll be getting better XP and better rewards. And if you don’t have WotLK yet but plan to keep leveling past 70, you should just pick it up now.
Well, I’m in kinda a precarious position right now. I have friends coming back to the game in July, and they told me to meet them at 70. So I’m going to get to 70 in Outlands just so we can all experience Northrend together and junk. You know, brave new world with your friends and all that.
I am instancing Wrath though, best way to get XP. Alongside extinguishing Horde fires, mwa ha ha ha ha.
