Vendors have a “buyback” tab (look at the bottom of the window) that should let you buy back anything you’ve sold during your session – even if you sold it to a different vendor – so you should have been able to get both daggers back. Unless maybe you had sold a ton of items; I don’t know how many that window will hold.
But yes, weapon skills are gone, so you can use right away any weapon you pick up as long as it’s class-appropriate.
Given that **kush ***did *buy back one but not the other, I’m assuming she knows how it works, and just sold too much trash after the first dagger, so that it was pushed off the buyback page. Off the top of my head, I want to say that the buyback tab only holds about a dozen items.
You can definitely open up a gm ticket to get the dagger restored. But it uses up one of your account’s “limited” (to how many? they never say) restorations, and it will take a day or two for your ticket to get through the queue. Unless it was a max level character and the weapon was irreplaceable (either heirloom, epic, or a really great blue), I wouldn’t bother waiting for a restoration to take place.
That “accidentally selling stuff to the vendor” thing happens to me a lot. I notice it when I have my toon’s profile up and am adding new gear just bought at the AH. For some reason, I get confused and forget what I’m doing, so I am glad to have the buyback feature.
On another topic, I don’t have a lot of stuff in my bank bags, so I am wondering what kinds of stuff y’all store there?
My bank is pretty full, primarily with holiday-related stuff, tabards, and old gear that I just like the look of or am proud of having earned.
I also normally have a bunch of relevant material for my main toons in their banks (so a lot of Cataclysm enchanting mats on my enchanter, and leather and ore/uncut gems on my JC).
I store a bunch of lower-level cooking material, cloth, and other stuff in the banks of some alts, just in case I have another toon that I want to level cooking or first aid or whatever on. I’m pretty bad about selling it, but every now and then I’ll list a bunch of stuff just to make some gold.
My bank bags are primarily full of holiday-related items or outleveled epic gear. I do have random crafting mats in there too, but at this point I should just get rid of them.
Heh…I’ve run Wrath Heroics with a fishing pole equipped more than once. Very easy to do on a druid in boomkin or tree form. My mage has been known to forget to swap out his argent lance after the jousting phase of that dungeon, too.
…20K a SECOND? Ew. And no, he didn’t do that before. I think I’d have noticed on our run. O.o
Amusing H BRC run: Tank, me, and one of the DPS were new to running on H. When we went to have a go at Beauty, the tank elected to kill the pat that normally comes after Beauty first, so we went in. Unfortunately, things went pear shaped as the shaman accidentally pulled a second full group (possibly with a mistimed CL?). There may have been a third. I just know it was all absolute pear shaped madness.
The tank demanded to know who it was, got a sheepish apology from the shaman, then went down a minute later. The kitty popped bear and started picking up adds while the shaman and mage kited the rest and I healed for everything I was worth. When everything settled, I was OOM and we were still alive except for the tank. We took a breath as the bear popped out of form and trotted over… then he promptly keeled over and died *exactly *as he reached us. (There’s just something about the male tauren death animation, too)
Tough to kill, but I thought I had my own “squad”? I had them with me (I thought) the first time we went out, but now it seems like it’s just Usumbij and his white cat.
Are you supposed to summon them some way?
Also, is there a flightmaster in the Ashenvale neighborhood? I got killed, took lots of damage and mistakenly hearthed out back to Bloodmyst, so then I had to swim back to AV again!
My gnome rogue has had the good fortune to bump into Lil Timmy <Boy With Kittens> three times in a short span and found him with a White Kitten to sell each time (the last two times immediately after he walked, apparently unnoticed, right through the crowd of jewelcrafters sitting on their ginormous drakes in front of the JC trainer/vendors. So, after adding the first one to my rogue’s own pet collection, I figured I’d auction off the other two.
So I checked the going price on the Alliance AH, and found it to be a rather meh ~129g. I thought, “Hey, I’ll bet I can do considerably better than that if I post these kitties up on the neutral AH for Horde players who might pay a premium!” So I trotted my li’l gnome down to Booty Bay, talked to the auctioneer, looked up the going price for a White Kitten …
There were two of them posted.
For 130g.
WTF is the point of going all the way to the neutral AH just to post something like that for the same price that’s being asked at the AH in Stormwind??!!
:smack:
Oh, and hey, those of you who do the Stormwind cooking dailies … has anybody seen the “A Fisherman’s Feast” quest (the one where you steal catfish from the barrels) lately? I have Alliance toons on several different servers, and I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw that one come up on any of them. I mean, sure, RNG and all that, but the same quest “randomly” failing to appear on all of my servers?
Exactly as many as you can see (I think it’s 12): if you’ve sold more stuff, it drops off the buyback buffer.
I got the Fisherman’s Feast today.
It’s gotten better with wednesday’s patch, but we were getting horrible serverspikes. These are easily confused with several seconds’ worth of lag, with two big differences: they affect everybody and, when it ends, you’re not dead.
We fought Magmaw yesterday. Didn’t get it killed, but we got to the point where the DK and I were downing the parasites just fine so at least our personal objective was achieved (no mages or warlocks, where is a decent AoEr when you need one?!11!): we were doing it by the method of “the hunter stays away, which anyway she needs to do, and everybody else hugs the big worm without falling off the ledge”.
