Since the orbs are soulbound, you’d have to use your own orbs. Even if they had one they wouldn’t be able to give it to you.
Well then, I guess I’d rather use the orbs within the guild then.
For SuhFugg (SFG! ;))
Well, I don’t upgrade every level, but if I have to visit my trainer and he/she is in a place with an AH, I like to look and see what’s there.
It also affords me the opportunity to do what y’all taught me: Don’t buy stuff that your toon’s not going to need (intellect for the Warrior, for instance).
But… if I can buy a better bow, sword, shield - why shouldn’t I as soon as I can? Can’t those items protect me and increase the power of my attacks?
And you’re right: the drops I get from killed NPC’s are useless to me and they go to the AH asap. Like if I’m in leather, invariably I’ll get a mail item dropped to me.
And I got a new ability for Clawdie so she doesn’t have that funny lope when she runs. “Travel”, which allows her to speed up in animal form.
By the way, SFG, she also is a Worgie Feral Druid.
Speaking of: She looks like she’s got a load in her britches’ back end, but I reckon that’s just her tail, right? Don’t see why they wouldn’t cut a hole and let her pull it through, though. It looks like it would chafe like hell!
Thanks

Screenshot time!
My draenei paladin finished up his Booty Bay/Bloodsail Buccaneers quest chain, and during the big battle he ran across a couple scenes that cracked me up so much I had to take screenshots:
Grrl Power! (love all the dudes cowering behind her)
And these guys seemed to be taking advantage of the confusion in a most sensible way. They were knocking them back one after another…
Anyway, headed off to Western Plaguelands, and got to the quests where you’ve got that troll druid, Zen’kiki, tagging along. And as long as Zen’kiki was with me, I had this nonsense going on. The spell effect (which seems to be the warlock fel steed summon effect) just wouldn’t go away, and my toon was constantly stuck in a casting animation — while standing there, while running, while mounted, during combat between attacks… sigh
Oh, no, any reference you can see, you can bet it’s intended. WoW has so many cross-references you can use it to learn pop culture… or to teach people about where Metallica, Iron Maiden et al got their apocalyptical references (from, amazingly enough, the Book of the Apocalypsis).
I have rolled a human mage, and have breezed through to level 11. Dunno if it’s the heirloom Staff, but he’s blasting through 3 - 4 at level mobs without breaking a sweat. I have gone herbalism/enchanting.
I am learning BS on another toon, would I just send stuff he makes to the new toon to be disenchanted?
Or you could charge per orb “WTS BS your mats and 400G per Chaos Orb”
PvP as alliance on my battlegroup is really getting me down, even with an attempt at organisation from someone it’s ignored and we inevitably lose. If it wasn’t so much fun Sapping random people at the flags and watching the chaos ensue I would give it all up. Couple this with only one or two guildies on when I am playing and this game isn’t feeling very multiplayer for me at the moment.
Yep keep your BS ahead of your enchanting and you’ll have a steady supply of enchanting mats. There are very few, if any, pieces you’ll create while levelling that will sell well on the AH so coupling a crafting profession with enchanting is a great idea. Don’t forget to disnchant your unusable quest rewards too, this may sound obvious but I know that when I go back on my little played enchanter I sometimes forget about this and sell the gear instead of disenchanting :smack:
Well, I know y’all are way younger than me, but I maintain that “Searing Gorge” is a take-off of George Shearing.![]()
I maintain this.
Strongly.

One piece of good news I wanted to share - was running Heroic Grim Batol, when on a random trash ilevel 359 corefire legplates dropped. I rolled need against the DK tank and won! Fantastic upgrade from a trash drop.
On the downside we could NOT get past the forgemaster. Trying to put out good melee DPS when having to follow him all over the place, dodging pools of magma is tres hard!
Oh, that reminds me. We did a guild heroic run. First time in heroics for the tank and the healer, second for my mage. Got Stonecore: much groaning was heard, but oh well.
Ozruk. “Pop in any DoTs you have in between the end of the Paralysis and the next shielding, he reflects anything (unlike in normal, where he only has a reflect chance and it isn’t very bad)”.
Dead toons.
Ozruk.
More dead toons. I have a fire spell which works, but anything else forgetaboutit. I’m a mage, damnit, not a warlock!
Ozruk.
Try spellsteal? “I CAN SPELLSTEAL!FRYHIM!” Forget “sorry about caps”, caps intended and I didn’t use bigger font because I couldn’t.
Man, after that mother-cursed giant, the priestess at the end is a walkover
I put up about 8 flasks/potions on the AH last night and before I logged out I had made 1200 gold on them. In summary: I like alchemy way more than leatherworking.
They will make you slightly stronger, but usually the increase isn’t enough to be worth the money you’ll pay.
Love it!
And the casting effect while you have Zen’kiki seems to be universal. I can’t remember if it was always like that–I did a handful of the quests on my Hunter a few months back so that I could tame one of the undead birds (since you can only get at them when you’re on the quest).
It’s partly the staff, and it’s partly the way that they retuned lower-level content.
Most items you make to level armor-crafting professions are just DE fodder, yeah.
My guess is that everybody who really cares about PvP has moved to the rated BGs, so the people who are left over are the ones who are generally (a) just grinding Honor or HKs, (b) bad, or (c) good but not having enough time to commit to a rated group, and a/b outweigh c. If PvP is what you want to do, I’d suggest checking your realm forums for a new guild and/or a group to PvP with. Counting on random BG matcher PUGs to work together well enough to win consistently is kind of like counting on a Trade PUG to down progression raid bosses.
I may be wrong about this, but I’m pretty sure that YOU SHOULD NEVER, EVER SPELLSTEAL OFF OZRUK. When you do that, you remove his reflecting buff (which can also be dispelled by a Warrior’s Shield Slam), which then means that NO ONE can break themselves out of Paralyze, and you will wipe.
Someone else who’s playing an 85 Mage may be able to comment more specifically.
Nope, not always like that. I’ve previously done those quests on a priest and a hunter, and didn’t see this. IIRC, Zen’kiki casts a buff on you (Mark of the Wild or something), and I think that’s where things may be getting glitched. I could be wrong about him putting a buff on you.
The last time I PvPed significantly using the random BG finder was before rated BGs took effect. I had maybe a 60% win rate (maybe slightly less) overall and it was usually pretty enjoyable.
When Love Is In the Air came around, I went back in for AB (to pity the fool) on several characters.
Holy crap, it was awful.
Even when losing badly, I almost never desert a BG in progress. I deserted every single time. Even when we were winning. It was that painful to participate.
It wasn’t even a matter of people only being there to pity the fool – I did it rather late in the holiday and was the only one on the team doing it.
Non-rated random BGs are such a cesspool now. And with the Queue glitching like it is, you’re going through a lot of waiting and a lot of trouble to … to … I dunno what. Don’t. Just don’t.
Elementium Bulwark - reflects spells and puts a DOT on you.
Elementium Spike Shield - puts a DOT on the person using melee hits against him.
Get at least 1 stack of either on yourself (I’m a pally healer, so I just melee since there’s not to much damage going around)
If you got a DOT on you and he does Paralyze, when you take the DOT damage, it breaks the paralyze and you’re free to run out of range of his Shatter ability.
When he gets low on health, he gets an enrage buff, which I heard can be removed.
It just takes some practice and you’ll find your rhythm. I had a DK tank once and the rest of the group died. We finished him off from ~85% on (it took 14 minutes).
The only thing I don’t like about some of the bosses in Stonecore is that there is no forgiveness - if you do one thing wrong (hit by Shatter, stand in the digging path on first boss, get hit by a boulder by the priestess) you’re pretty much out of the game.
FWIW, i’ve made boad loads of cash this expansion with LW, As well as crafting a bunch of epics for guildies. Though i guess the key to this is that i have tons of Chaos Orbs.
A month or so ago i was cranking out Assassin’s Chestplates (the Leather Melee Chest) and i was selling those at about 10K a pop (they would always sell in less than 24 hours). I made another one a week or two ago and still was able to sell it for 9.5K in less than a day.
It feels good to actually be getting good use out of LW for once… in WOTLK the only benefit was crafting myself the IC epics and the bracer enchant.
You *do *get a buff when you’re on the quest, with a tooltip something like, “Assisting Zek’kiki with his Druid training.” But it doesn’t appear to do anything to your stats like MotW would. And MotW doesn’t make you do the Warlock summoning animation.
ETA: From what I can tell, too, it’s purely a graphical glitch. It didn’t prevent me from using any abilities in their normal way.
Yep, same here. The only real problems are that it’s annoying/distracting, and blocks my view of the mob I’m fighting at my preferred camera angle.
The problem I was having with LW was the fact that I couldn’t farm leather effectively (being a healer). But with 310% flying and Crusader aura, I can gather herbs very quickly. Two months after Cata had dropped I still hadn’t maxed my LW, but alchemy took about three days starting from 1. Plus people laughed at a paladin leatherworker :).
