I can and have waited until I’m sure that the other tank actually is fucking up, rather than running around and picking up all of their assigned adds before they’re actually a problem.
Okay, see, that death is an important piece of information that wasn’t present in your original post (that I recall). That’s why I said that what you were doing *may *have been heal sniping, when the original info was just that they were around 50% HP–I wasn’t trying to be accusatory, just making you aware of what could be the start of what is regarded by some players as a bad habit.
*Constantly topping off *another healer’s group is heal sniping. Keeping them from death, when the healer has already let one of them die, is being a good raider.
But how were they supposed to “be careful”? It’s not like they could see where the elevator was when you cast the summons, or where the elevator was when they accepted it.
Speaking of the tauren herbalism racial, I really enjoy the corresponding skinning benefit on my worgen (+15 skill and faster skinning time). I didn’t even realize that bonus was there when I picked skinning/LW for my hunter but I’m glad I did.
There’s some forum angst about that, specifically Worgen skinners ninja-skinning other peoples’ kills, even while the original hunter is in the act of skinning.
I can see the point. Frankly, the apparent gathering mechanic of “first past the post” (first to finish casting the gathering spell) rather than “first to the post” (first to start casting the gathering spell) can cause a fairness problem. On non-PvP servers, there’s literally no recourse.
it hasn’t happened to my skinning farmer yet, but I suppose I should be mentally ready for it. (And maybe start doing my farming in PvP spec and gear, since I do play on a PvP server, and can interrupt a ninja-skinner if I’m quick enough.)
Every once in a while, I consider jumping my Paladin, fairly well geared for mid-60’s, into a dungeon, but there is no role I could play. I could off heal, or off tank, but because I don’t know the dungeons, I’m scared %^&*(less to tank. There is just no way I could jump in and go “Ok, where we going?” As a DPS…um…wtf…there are pure dps classes, why the hell would I gimp a group by being far less damaging than a nakked Warlock? Healing’s the only thing I could remotely consider, but honestly, I’d be worried about healing with ONLY a Paladin.
Basically I need to get off my lazy, going-on-two-decades-of-mostly-soloing arse and join a guild that doesn’t mind non-noobs who are still…noobs. To dungeons, anyway. <sighs>
((Pay no attention to the Paladin running down WSG with the flag who suddenly gets all shiny, drops the flag, and keeps running, wondering where the flag went. >.< Hey, I made up for it later! BUT OMG that was embarassing. Think it was the first time I’d ever even thought to use Divine Shield, too.

Not much going on over here. Settling into my routine of Tol Barad dailies followed by a random dungeon and surveying sites. Have the Tauren and Gnomes not been on Azeroth long enough to have artifacts? I understand the Goblins not having any because they’d never waste what they could sell!
The Tauren were nomads for a very long time. Their construction tended toward wood and bone and leather, and as campsites were impermanent the buildings did not need to be solidly built, so it certainly makes sense that anything they left behind would eventually degrade, unlike the stone ruins of the other races. It was only in Cairne’s lifetime that they settled into Thunder Bluff and started thinking about more permanent settlements.
So far as I can tell, the only gnomish settlement is Gnomeregan, so there wouldn’t be ruins or artifacts anywhere else.
Heck, when I see a Big Bird (specially one of the reddish BBs) I don’t bother run toward the barrel, I know birdie will grab it before I’m even halfway to it.
Ah, so that was you? I didn’t know you played in my server!
I’ve had someone do that to me but he was bouncing all over the place and from The Stinky Side, trying to explain to him “dude you have a magnet, use it” would have been complicated.
Yes and yes to the first paragraph, thank you for the shield goes in search of that moron
goes in search of the moron with one shield in each hand: here, honey, let me show you why cymbals are considered percussion instruments
DPS is the best way to jump from soloing to learning the dungeons; say “first time here”, if anybody grouches or can’t be arsed explain they get filed under “M for Moron”, and at those levels who cares what your output is, really.
That’s like saying “OMG, the first time I stood on my own two feet and let go of the nearest piece of furniture and tried to walk, I fell on my ASS! I was SO embarrassed!”
In other words, anybody who claims he’s never done his class’s equivalent gets filed under L for “hunter who claims to never have forgotten to turn growl off upon entering a dungeon or on when starting to solo”.
Their culture has apparently been intertwined with dwarfs for so long that their (very few) artifacts are found in dwarven sites. We do know that both races were linked closely pre-curse-of-death and (based on what’s found in Northrend) it would appear that the curse took longer to reach the mechagnomes than their dwarven counterparts.
My orc warlock finished up questing in Thousand Needles the other day, and along the way did this quest where she rescued a bunch of baby wind riders. I just had to take a screenshot of her with her adorable little herd:
Anyway, those of you who have quested in that zone know that you’re given an underwater breathing apparatus and some rocket fins to help you swim faster, since so much of the zone is underwater now. Well, apparently those items are shareable, as I discovered when I inadvertently found myself back in the water while still accompanied by my l’il buddies…
Second time this has happened to me in about a week:
Queue up for my daily random (as a tank so insta-queue) and get Grim Batol. I zone in and apparantly dungeon is already in progress, the leader says “we’re at last boss, other guys didn’t know how to kill adds.” i reply “Sweet”. run to last boss, kill the ugly mofo, collect valor points and go home
In closing… Many thanks to the last boss of Grim Batol for being an idiot check and giving me the opportunity to get my VP in ~5 mins. Also, a special thanks to said idiots.
