I’m glad I haven’t spent points on commodities then. I await with great anticipation the cumulative forum QQ’age from everyone who bought at full price just before the patch hits live, demanding refund of the difference.
About f’in time. I am sick and tired of having no meaningful contribution in mass-mob situations.
I promise not to use it in mass-pvp target situations tho.
Not only that, but by making them easier they’ll lower the barrier of entry for people who’ve been having a tough time with heroics the past few months. I’m all for making things better for raiders and non alike.
The funniest change is the Defias Blood Wizard, though. Ragezone used to increase both damage dealt and damage taken by 50%. Now it’ll only increase damage dealt by 50%, with damage taken untouched. Possibly the first time I’ve seen an enemy given an ability that only buffs players.
As it ever was, so shall it ever be. They got the benefits of having those items sooner than folks who couldn’t afford them.
I think you’re confused about how RAEG ZOAN works. It affects *anything *standing in it–so a hostile mob inside of one will *also *deal 50% increased damage.
That’s what I thought. So, ideally, I don’t want to stand in it (before the patch) because it can only cause me to take more damage with no benefit. After the patch it’ll be irrelevent.
We used to have an awesome AoE spell that worked like a spell with a radius as opposed to just picking three targets. Then they took it away and gave us Multishot, which is basically useless. I try to bring it out on all the troggs in various Cata dungeons and by the time it goes off a mage has already killed the whole bloody group.
Stop “randoming” me into Grim Batol every day, on each toon, for my daily heroic.
Thanks!

…okay so maybe it isn’t every day, but I swear I get that place at least twice a day. Today it was my random daily for 4 of my 85s. Left it straight away on my warrior switch to my druid and get thrown right back in. Group has no slows, nor any desire to kill adds on Dragha so we wipe and skip, Erudax is messy but we down it with 3 people dead at the end and enough whelps flying around to make Onyxia jealous.
Switch back to the warrior, get Vortex Pinnacle and probably the best random group I’ve had since the feature was put in. Hop to the shaman and BAM! Grim Batol. Everyone lol’s and bails at the start, next random is Blackrock Caverns with another totally awesome group. Get on the DK and right back into Grim Batol, 3/5 guild group with a pug tank and myself. Healer is probably cheesing the ilevel with gear in her bags. Goes OOM every pull and the poor tank is having to blow cooldowns every pull because nobody will CC. Wipe twice on the first boss, I save it with Army and then the tank drops. Get a new tank, Throngus takes 3 wipes because the healer is going nearly OOM after the first shield phase. Dragha only takes two, I sit myself on the adds because I love Chains and my Chilblains, pretty sure I was the only one killing them too. One shot Erudax with me slowing both adds and getting some very lucky procs. Took us about two hours.
I used to think Grim Batol was pretty neat… not anymore.
More Nefarian attempts tonight! I feel a boss kill coming soon.
Shin, just out of curiosity what was the class/spec of that healer? I’ve had issues with mana on my holy priest (just in regular dungeons) so I’m just wondering if I’m doing it wrong (probably) or my gear is just not good enough yet (also probably) or if H Priests have challenging mana issues in general.

It was a priest, I’ll assume she was holy since I didn’t see penance being thrown around. She also had a fairly low mana pool, which didn’t bother me at first. I’ve had holy priest healers in the past that didn’t seem to have any trouble with mana, probably just a combination of decent gear with the knowledge of how to play the spec to the fullest.
When you’re running heroics, my first priority would be to replace those leather pieces with mail so you can get the 5% bonus in Mail Specialization. Second, your gems match socket bonus, which isn’t completely ideal. As MM, I would gem agility and maybe an agi/crit gem in yellow sockets if the bonus was worth it. Otherwise, rub that tasty agi all over your gear. Remember, you can also reforge your stuff to drop a less desirable stat for a more desirable stat. This is cheaper and can give better bang for the buck than gemming for the stat in question.
Finally, I’d consider picking out glyphs for your empty slots. They’re not a direct DPS increase, but they do make life easier. A couple of majors that might be good for you: Trap Launcher, Disengage.
Going OOM on every pull even without CC does sound a little odd. Also, holy priests use Chakra which means a funky light show around their feet. Lightwell too, on the occasion they’re stubborn enough to try to train pugs to click. I wonder if the priest was still trying to do Wrath healing…
Skammer, feel free to ask me holy questions and I can do my best to answer them – I know holy much better than disc. >.>
Well, I haven’t done a lot of pugging with my holy priest. I did get to a point where I didn’t run out of mana on every fight, but a lot of fights were close and I almost always had to drink after each pull. I’m just used to my pally now who never has any mana issues (but he also has much better gear). I probably just need practice and more gear.
I got Wolkie to 83 a little while ago. I’m glad I went back to Deepholm b/c I stopped farming leather when I saw the going price had dropped to 7g to bid.
When I got back to the inn in the Dwarven District, I saw I had an invitation for Heroe’s Call in Uldum.
I have a few more quests to tie up in DH, first.
Did y’all do that one on the ship where you’re supposed to jump on Stormbeak’s back and watch the interrogation? Did you notice how far from the ship Stormbeak was hovering???
I saw that, and said eff no, dude! I’ve already fallen from this ship once, wound up in the engine room tubes and had to hearth to get out. I ain’t doin’ this again.
Finally jumped up on one of the bannister posts and caught the green arrow.
So anyway, a couple of loose ends (explorers, etc.) and then on the Uldum, or should I stay in DH and see what else opens up?
Thanks

PS: Caught “Melia’s Magnificent Scepter” on a drop. I am auctioning it, b/c bidding starts at 76. So far no nibbles.
Suggestion: Don’t even worry about the “Starting Bid” price. The only number you really need to worry about is the “Buyout” price, because that’s all buyers look at. I know it’s called an “auction house”, but it’s really more of a “flea market”. Buyers just look at the Buyout price, and if they like it they click “Buy” without ever looking at the Starting Bid.
As far as farming leather, you’ll make a whole lot more money on Savage Leather than on Borean Leather.
Thanks, Rik. I’ll keep that in mind for the AH. BTW, no one bought the scepter, so I went ahead and vendored it. When I mentioned it here before, it was close to expiring approaching 48 hours.
Savage leather, according to the guy who writes “Just My Two Copper”, is plentiful in DH on the red bat path, so I’ll hang around up there for a while.
