Honestly, the frequency with which it feels like Blizzard just completely forgets about the ranged slot for Warriors is obscenely depressing to me.
Anybody know if there are any plans to give paladins at least one minor glyph that is not completely and utterly useless? All of the current ones seem to reduce the mana cost of seals, which really isn’t even marginally useful. My tankadin rarely switches seals during a fight, and even he does, the mana cost isn’t a huge deal anyway.
Okay, Blizzard, this isn’t funny anymore. I have yet to see a single piece of hunter gear in a Zandalari dungeon yet. It’s getting pretty hard to get any upgrades, even though almost all of my slots have a Zandalari piece for BiS.
Oh, hey! People with authenticators, please don’t panic: Blizzard rolled out a feature where they adjusted the authenticator to not make you have to enter the code as often on computers you use a lot. I’m not quite sure of it all, but if you get in without being asked for your code, it’s on purpose. Blizzard, as usual, just rolled it out with no warning.
“Disenchant this item/Auto-disenchant disabled”
I am seeing this a lot for some reason, and don’t know what to do with it, so I just sell it to a vendor. Is this correct?
Wolkie’s a human Alliance warrior, so has no spells and I’ve just been ignoring it.
Thanks

Well, I just got kicked from a group for the first time ever.
We were on Jin’do. I was following the tactics on that page, because I was taught that way. As ranged, I took Twisted Spirits duty, and considered it tank duty to pull the Gurubashi Spirit around. As you know, near the end there are a lot of Twisted Spirits, so I was DPSing them and not the chains. And then they called me huntarded for not doing the chains and kicked me.
Should I concentrate on chains, or Twisted Spirits? The last group I did this with went really smoothly - I took the Twisted Spirits the entire time, and the rest of the group handled the chains smooth like butter. This group barely managed to get one chain down before a wipe.
Anyone else noticing this?
Thanks

Starcraft 2 stops asking if you sign-in from the same location a bunch of times in a row. I’d assume WoW is the same.
This is a new policy from Blizzard. If you pass authentication from the same computer enough times, they stop asking for it every time. It was a stealth update…they never announced it until after it happened.
If I’m understanding correctly, they use a hash made up from your MAC address and various hardware ID#s in your computer itself to make the decision to bypass authentication. If you change out any piece of the hardware in your computer whose ID# is being used for the hash, or you log in somewhere else, you’ll be asked for your Authenticator key again. At the moment (and probably at least until people start getting hacked because of it) there seem to be no plans to implement an option to ask for authentication every time.
Okay, thanks, y’all. I was going to add that it does say “authentication successful”, so I know it’s looking at it (or was).
Thanks

Confirmed. The new system’s a whole two days old.
Catching gold coins from D fountain: They’re supposed to make me lucky and fish up more coins, right? Where’s the sense in that?
Also, in ref. to the Saturday fishing tournament (which I missed again today): I can fish ANYWHERE I want, correct, just hoping to catch the shark?
I’m at 475 fishing skill, but I’m confused where I’m supposed to get my fishing dailies from. Right now the only one I have is in Dalaran.
Thanks!
Quasi
Every time I’ve done this fight, everybody burns the chains when they are attackable.
I’ve done it several different ways, and it really depends on your group. If your dps is lacking, you can easily be overwhelmed by the little adds before the chains are down; in this case we’ll have one person assigned to just killing adds. Generally though, I’ll just focus on the chains and throw in the occasional AE/splash dmg ability to shave off a few nearby spirits.
You know, I thought Netherwing would be a tedious grind but just doing all the dailies (and finding 2-3 eggs) I’m getting 4-5,000 rep a day. I’ll have my netherdrake in two more days of work I think.
Also I was in a pug last night with a bear tank who had 217k hp. That’s by far the most I’ve ever seen, since I’m not raiding. I haven’t had any other tanks over 200. I wish I had been on my healer instead of my spriest! But at least Corla dropped her wand for me, which is all I needed for the Cata Superior achievement.
Where are you seeing this message? You don’t have Enchanting as one of your professions. Could you send a screenshot? It’s probably just an irrelevant message from one of your addons.
I guess there’s your answer. This is why it’s always a good idea to clarify strats **before **pulling, to make sure everyone is one the same page. Some strategies that work well for groups with high DPS fail horribly if you need every bit to scrape by.
The sense in it is that there’s an achievement for fishing up every single coin from the fountain. If you complete it, you get a coin (an item that goes in your bags) that when you use it gives a message in chat about whether it comes up heads or tails. Just a fun little toy or RP item.
So, when you catch gold coins, not only do they count toward the achievement themselves, but they speed up the process of getting more coins.
Anywhere in Northrend for the Kalu’ak derby. The shark replaces the Pygmy Suckerfish at a very, very low rate, so the better your chance to get a Pygmy Suckerfish, the better your chance to find the shark.
Here’s the El’s Extreme Anglin’ guide to the Kalu’ak Fishing Derby. That should give you lots of details. Let me know if anything doesn’t make sense!
Since Wolkie is Alliance, you also want to pick up the daily in Stormwind. I don’t know if your hearth is set there or Dalaran, but if it’s in Dalaran, you can hop through the portal to SW to get it. The person who gives the quest is on a dock right by the entrance to the Stockades.
Being able to farm multiple eggs per day really speeds up the process. Back in TBC, that whole subzone was crawling with people, so you’d be really lucky (or signing on in the middle of the night) to find even one per week.
SFG. For some reason I had Enchantrix loaded as an add-on, and didn’t notice it until tonight. Also, “mill this item” came up>
I deleted it, and no more probs.
Also, dummy me forgot that I’ve been doing the SW fishing daily for about 2 months now! :smack:
Hearth is still in Dwarven district (which is where you said would be handy with all the portals, so after I do my easy dailies I go on to TB and do about 5 there. (Some of the others are kinda hard for me).
All in all, I do 11 dailies and because I do the two in Tournament, I have 105 of those star batches!
Thanks!

Quasi, I don’t know which TB dailies you’re doing, but there are 6 available there, and another 6 at BH (the pvp area) when your faction (Alliance) controls it. The three easiest ones are from the guy on the right, and always the same…kill 12 horde npcs (at any of the three flag locations-Ironclad Garrison, Slagworks, or Wardens-something); kill 8 crocodiles and bring their hides (always drops); and kill Problim–he’s a giant, wanders the road, and all you have to do to complete the quest is get in a couple of licks when he’s killed. You do not have to be grouped with anyone–everyone that does some damage will get quest credit, and a share of his loot, which isn’t much–a few silver I think. I solo’d him once as a frost mage, but it was pretty sporty. Easy kill with three people, or even two if one of them is a healer. If you have the quest and you see somebody killing him, just run up and start smacking him. If you are a skinner, you can get tons of savage leather there…even skinning abandoned corpses in the crocodile area.
The reason I mention these quests is they pay a little better than the ones in TB. 18 gold, and more reputation with BH Wardens, plus the badges accumulate faster. The drake mount costs 200 (I think), but looks pretty cool. Also good trinkets, and a nice caster staff available from the same quartermaster guy. He might have a weapon you’d like available…I dunno warrior stuff, and my pally is not high enough to worry about it yet.
You get 3 more “static dailies” (which you outline in your next paragraph)… and 3 “random dailies” which are all focused in one of the three prisons at the edges of the island. All 3 will be in the same facility, and be in the same basic pattern: kill a named mob and loot a special item, kill x normal mobs in the facility, and loot y items from the floor or off of some of the normal mobs you kill for the prior quest.
The 3 areas are a demon prison (“Cell Block ‘D’”… “D” is for “Demon”, that’s good enough for me…); a ghost prison full of ghosts, undead oozes, and the like; and a “normal” prison full of normal living breathing humans, dwarves, elves, etc., except that half of them are mages, and they’re all batshit crazy and will try to kill you on sight. Just another day in the World of Warcraft.
Anyway, each time per day your faction wins TB again, the next 3 non-static dailies becomes available, so if your faction can steamroll TB 3 times out of the day (every two hours), you can get 12 dailies out of that side of the zone, plus the 6 on the peninsula side of the zone.
Problim is a fun fight, but can be a problem (heh heh) to solo if your toon is squishy. My enhancement shaman almost died fighting him, even though his on-the-fly heals (maelstrom weapon greater heals, ghost wolves, totem) are pretty effective. I think having an active Berserking enchant on one of my weapons was probably a bad idea for soloing :smack:.
OTOH, my tank DK laughs at Problim. And my hunter has fun either kiting him around or else using his Polar Bear tank pet, who’s specced for survivability and can pwn stuff like Problim while I pew-pew. (Bang-bang, actually, since the hunter is a rifleman.)
At Revered level, the TB faction quartermaster has a pretty good selection of weapons (ilvl 346) which can easily be exceeded only by ZA/ZG drops or raid gear, and at a moderately reasonable cost (about 80 badges, I think). It’s the kind of thing you can do if your weapon slot is holding you back and you’re not getting good drops in normal heroics.
In general, I really enjoy TB. The only real downside is the roving gangs of gankers in the Peninsula half in the downtime between battles, and that’s really just a transient annoyance.
Enchantrix is part of the Auctioneer2 package. Generally, it’s harmless. I imagine deleting or inactivating it on a non-enchanter, non-jewelcrafter, non-scribe character would be a good idea, since it contributes nothing. For toons with those professions, it can be good to have the tooltip for a disenchantable/millable/prospectable thing tell you the historical breakdown (according to your own experience) of what mats that thing will disassemble into. (For instance, my JC has a statistical breakdown of what gems are likely to come out of a particular stack of prospectable ore; this is nice information to have, although I can count on never getting the precise gemstone I need the most. Hessonite, I’m looking at you…)
I play only Horde, so I can’t speak to this for the Alliance, but I noticed that there are alternate fishing and cooking daily quests in Undercity (the better-known ones are in Orgrimmar). The quests I tried one day in UC were pretty unattractive to me, so I think I still prefer Org, but in any event there’s probably a second Alliance capital with an alternate set of those dailies.
BTW, that’s “alternate set”, not “another set”. If you do the fishing in UC, you can’t also do the fishing in Org. I checked.
Ah, the tournament grind. My DK is still doing those, because he hasn’t gotten Champion for all 5 Horde factions there, and I want the pony bridle for the squire. It’s good to have a summonable shop/bank/mailbox, and if you’re not an engineer, goblin, or owner of an expensive mount, you don’t have many options while soloing.
I did not know that. Then again, Alliance rarely wins consecutive TB battles on my server. Seems like the attackers usually win the last few times I did it, but that’s been a couple weeks ago now…
