My PvP Battle Song?

The wind blows while Wolkie buffs up…the bass thumping while riding Silka to his first enemy…that freaking Frost Mage that’s summoning that stupid Water Elemental! Wolkie’s utters his now familiar line…One of These Days, I’m Going to Cut You into Little Tiny Pieces!!! And pwnage ensues while the dual track of Gilmore’s guitars wail away in sync with Wolkie wailing away on that poor, poor Mage.

Yeticalayla has done this soooooo many gratifying times…:stuck_out_tongue:

If you wait and save up a little longer, you can get a flying drake instead. Think they cost 200 TB Commendations instead of 185 for the spectral horse. It’s a fluff item, purely a matter of personal preference, but it’s probably the easiest dragon-like mount to get for those that don’t run heroic dungeons or raids…

I think the Explorer one is easier to get–you just fly around and discover everything in the world and you get a white drake.

The one from the Caverns of Time is pretty easy for 85s to get too, and usually everybody already has it so anyone who doesn’t usually doesn’t have any competition.

The Albino Drake is the reward for collecting 50 mounts. All you get for exploring everything is the Explorer title and a cool tabard.

Oops, my mistake. It’s been awhile!

I noticed when I signed on tonight that TB was under Ally control, so hell, we rode in there and took care of bidness (got 4 quests done), when we got the warning the preparations for the bg would begin in one minute.

Okay fine, the battle still won’t start for another 15 minutes, so I have time to cross the bridge to pay to get fixed and do some fishin’ and calm ourselves down a bit before the battle?

Not.

Gates closed, and I’m at 10% less of my capacity, so we’re starting OFF in the damn hole!

Farg!

Q

Okay, well Horde took this one, but this time, I kinda stayed back and watched before I rushed Wolkie in. For some reason, I keep getting promoted to Scout, which means I can drive a siege machine, right, but until I get a little more comfortable with directions, I think we’ll stay off that thing!

For some reason, I thought you could just mount that vehicle, ride to its destination and then jump off and start havin’ at it, but not in Tol Barad, I guess.

Still nobody’s getting in my face and yellin’ NOOB!, so that’s relaxing me enough to pay attention a little better.

Anyway, ain’t it funny (“how time slips away”) how much of a person’s real-life personality comes through in this game?

Mine does, anyway.

Even when I worked in the ER (in the “golden” days) I used to start my shift with a little prayer of sorts: “Lord, if you’re there, please don’t let me fuck up tonight, okay??”

I digressed a little there, I know, and I know it’s just a damn game, but it does show a little of who I am, I think!

Anyway, please keep it up with the help, and Oak, my friend, I’m gonna go ahead with the Spectral and get the Drake at some other time (I know: “WAY AWAY another time, Dood!”)
:)===================

Message to my guildies: Homers, I’ve cleaned up the guild vaults so it’s easier to find things in there, so please keep it in mind when you contribute, okay, and let me know if I need to change anything there, thanks.

Worked our ass off for a good 15 minutes, but do I get as much as a “thanks”? Noooooo! So what’s a Muthah to do???:)

Just kiddin’ of course, because I got some “happenin’” (and patient) guildies, and it sure is a lot more fun playing WoW these days.

So thanks, jayjay, ** Mister Rik** and Suburban Plankton: THE KNIGHTS WHO SAY JA!

Wolkie, Silka and Bill

PS: Best wishes for a speedy recovery to our friend jayjay and jaejae (in WoW)

If you get stuck in TB like that again, you can make your way to the water just right of the bridge, and swim/waterwalk around the coast to the Alliance staging area.

On the siege vehicles, you drive them to the towers, then click the right hand button to deploy siege mode. Once that is done, the vehicle will auto attack the tower until either the tower falls or the vehicle is destroyed. Pro-tip: try not to park a siege vehicle too close to another one, so that the hordies can hit both vehicles with aoe damage. These vehicles are absolutely useless for anything else other than attacking the towers–unlike vehicles in Stand of the Ancients or Isle of Conquest.

Quasi, I have a low level (currently level 3) warlock on your server. I sent a membership reuest through the guild finder. I’ll be on him for the next 30 minutes or so, so if you’re around and want to shoot me a guild invite, I’ll join.

Got the 'lock to level 6. His name is Graudy. Maybe we can hook up for a guild invite another time.

Hmmm…a dreaded 4th consecutive post, but got to show off my mage’s new staff.

Ah!!! Sorry, Oak! Didn’t see this till just now. It’s Sunday afternoon at 4:32 and I’m in-game off and on… If not tonight, we’ll set it up another night. I know you have the football game coming on…

Thanks

Quasi

Question about my sound system.

It’s a Logi-Tech Surround Sound. There’s no problem with the system itself, but I’m wondering I need to go to OPTIONS on the User Menu, and futz around with the sound settings at all?

The reason I ask is because I’ve noticed lately that when the music loop is playing, and I make any kind of change, such as changing from fishing pole to sword, the music apbruptly stops and once I even saw the master sound slide all the way to the left, as were sound, music and ambience.

Thanks

Q

Are you running with a fishing addon? I go with Fishing Buddy. And one of the features is to turn down all other sound channels BESIDES the “sound effects” channel (don’t recall what that one is called, but it’s the one for spell cast sounds, and also the splash of the bobber when your hook gets hit.)

That’s a feature because sometimes the best “wakeup” is to have to sound effect with nothing else in the background (no music, no ambient sound, etc.). Especially if you’re fishing but not paying close visual attention to the bobber.

That’s the only reason I can think of that your audio would be changing just because you’re fishing. And that feature CAN be turned off, if you don’t want the effect. But again, that’s not a basic ability of the WoW client, I don’t think.

What a long, strange trip indeed!

We also had a new guildie that honestly asked for 16k gold to buy the traveller’s mammoth. He’s not innocently ignorant, just greedy. On advice from another guildie, I finally went and bought mine to rub it in new guildie’s face!

Ooh! The Incredibly Gaudy Proto-Drake! I’m never going to get that thing, and the pvp requirements for Children’s Week are the reason. God, I hate pvp…

F’in GRATS!

It feels AWESOME to score that last achievement and see the cascade: achievement, seasonal achievement, Muh-Muh-Muh-MONSTER ACHIEVEMENT! Most excellent. And that purple drake is HUUUUGE. Good for pissing people off at vendors and questgivers. :stuck_out_tongue:

Again, grats. It takes a metric crapton of patience and a bit of luck to pull that one off.

I’m with you, but I’ll tell you… the stinking Childrens’ Week PvP achieve was the last thing I scored on my own “Long Strange Trip” meta. And it was just by trying over, and over, and over, and being able to tolerate that it would take lots of dying, lots of failed attempts, and a fair bit of poor PvP play, but I WOULD eventually get it.

And that’s what happened. The final achievement bit was returning a flag in WSG, which I got by a combination of stupid luck (catching a wounded flag carrier with a wounded escort out by myself) and inspired play (compared to my normal PvP skill… surprising and killing the escort and then some lucky crits on the flag carrier).

I suspect that if you can bring yourself to focus on the battlegrounds where you still have uncompleted achievement phases during Childrens’ Week, you almost certainly will eventually get it. YMMV, of course. There’s always next year, I guess, if this year doesn’t work out.:smack:

Some of those PvP achievements for Children’s Week are incredibly difficult unless you can queue for WSG with a group that is cooperating with you to get the achievement (like letting you return the flag). I remember what a bitch that was as a healer, since I don’t usually get close to the enemy flag carrier.

Grats on the purple flyer! That was probably my favorite mount.

I’m heading to Aleks. Got a lot of catching up to do. Should be there all night in and out.

Thanks
