New WoW General Discussion Thread 6/8/10

Thanks, Jas09!

Can you tell me, do I need to stay out of that red circle?

Thanks

Q

Nope, you have 3743 resilience, even without your bracers on

WHOOOO HOOOOOO!!!

All thanks to you, bud!

Got me some bracers, though, to do me till I get the right ones.

Thanks!

Q

I’ve told this story before, but one time I was riding the zepplin between Org and Undercity with a bunch of other folks - it was during a holiday event so the zep was relatively crowded. There was a server crash or glitch and everyone got disconnected. As we logged back in, we spawned at the same point in the air over brill where we had been when we disconnected - except the zep was no longer there. So for several minutes, as people managed to reconnect, bodies would appear in midair and fall to the ground, going splat on the road to Brill. Splat. Splat. Splat. At least 10 of us, bodies all piled up. It was the most hilarious thing I ever saw.

And the female Forsaken (and maybe the gay male ones) started dancing and singing “It’s Raining Men (and Women, and Tauren)”.

Very very early in my WoW career (maybe 6 months into the existence of the game), I was dumped into Bladefist Bay (the ocean near Orgrimmar) by the Org-Undercity zeppelin several times. Once, into death water just before the jump (loading screen). That pissed me off, since I died well out of resurrection reach and had to spirit rez. Cost me at least a dozen silver pieces repair! (I was less than level 30 at the time.)

In all cases, I’d suddenly stop going forward while the zep kept going, and then I’d have a cartoon-style two beats hovering in clear air before plummeting into the ocean. Other than dropping into death water, it was annoying but survivable.

While running Firelands for the achievement (one more heroic for the mount!) We wiped on H:Rhyio and I as mage, used Invisibility, so I could Mass-Res. However when I came out of Inv, the raid had bugged. I was still in combat (so I couldn’t cast Mass-Res), but Lord Rhyio was gone and people couldn’t walk in. After trying a few things, we bailed on FL for the night, and moved on to DS to get started on tomorrow nights raid. A talk with a GM gave us this: “there is currently a known issue with all raid instances where abilities that normally remove players from combat can cause the encounter to bug out.”
I’ve been using Invisibility forever. I know Hunters Feign Death all the time too. Has anyone else run into this before? How could this possibly be a known bug without it being a huge deal?
PS the GM hopes that the raid will reset after 12hours, so we’ll see if we can’t get it back on track tonight.

Well, I’m glad y’all didn’t write, “Quasi, are you sure that happened and that you weren’t just more than your usual batshit that day?”

The reason I wrote that is because several months back I wrote y’all that Wolkie got into one of those bent-over positions and couldn’t straighten up (Y’all have had this to happen too, right?), but that I was able to mount him in that position on Silka, but no one ever answered and it made me wonder if I might have dreamed it. I do that a lot these days, no kiddin’.

Q

I haven’t raided since Wrath, but I faintly recall situations in which the raid effectively wiped, but I survived to tell the tale (yaaay for feign death)… but the raid stayed in combat, as you described, even with despawn of the baddies. We had to exit the instance for a 30-minute soft reset before the encounter reset itself.

I’m not sure if it’s cheating death that does that, but it may be.

It’s happened to me several times. I think it’s funny and I leave the toon like that as long as I can. This was a while ago so I don’t remember if I was able to fight in that position but still fun scooting around Stormwind.

I think I remember one of the other players going, “Dude?” in a whisper to me.

Thanks, Drunky Smurf!

Q

squeal My Hunter is one step closer to his ultimate desire of being a Warden!

I found a group to do a couple Heroics with last night on Taris and I finally got an orange chest reward that matches my lower robe - hooray! Finally a matching outfit! I’m going to keep my old one, though, because once they adopt that ‘match color to chest’ feature it might look pretty cool.

Can someone take a look at my glyphs and tell me what’s needed? I know they’re supposed to intensify abilities, but not sure if I have them figured out thoroughly enough. Thanks, guys!

Q

Still about 15k points away from being exalted with K’aluak, so I can get that better fishing pole. (I can only do 2 quests for them).

It just shickles the tit out of me when Utaik addresses Wolkie: “Who is this that speaks?”
Sounds just like Alf to me, I swear!

Thanks

Q

Have you checked to see if they have a tabard you could buy, and wear while you run old dungeons? That will get you rep with them faster…if they have a tabard.

No, I haven’t done that yet, Oak, but would I have to take OUR tabard off to make stuff count, because I really don’t wanna do that. I like those colors and those fighting lions.

Not bragging (well, a little, maybe), but I love our guild name and the burgundy tabards I chose for us.

I hope we can soon make a family (Guild) picture with all of us decked out!

All of us at 85!!!

Man! That would ROCK!!!

Thanks

Q

Well yes, you can only wear one tabard at a time. But you’d only be putting on the K’aluak one (assuming one exists, which I don’t know) when you wanted to clear a low level dungeon for rep. You can switch back to the guild tabard after the dungeon if you like.

Oak?

How would I know to find a low level dungeon for K’aluak rep?

I know there’s a dungeon “finder” on my bar, but I reaaaalllly don’t wanna go through my fargin’ “I’m mentally challenged” spiel again.

I’d like to keep it KISS, and I KNOW y’all know what that means, right?

Thanks

Q

I don’t think K’aluak have a tabard or associated dungeon, AFAIK the only way to get rep with them is to do their three quests in Howling Fjord, Borean Tundra, and Dragonblight.

Looks like** Jragon** is right, and the K’aluak don’t have a tabard, so the point is moot.
