Quasi There’s 3 K’aluak daily quests for 1500/day. That’s only 10 more days of questing. (Man, I remember that grind) we should find out which one you’re missing and help you get that one. In fact if you hadn’t done the ramp-up quests yet there’s more reputation in it for you. Possibly enough to get exalted much sooner!
Here’s the wowwiki
Which of these three are you doing?
Preparing for the Worst: Collect 8 Kaskala Supplies (crates)
Planning for the Future: Collect 12 pups (love the quote: “So cute! Too bad they grow up to be such little monsters!” ![]()
The Way to His Heart…: Use the fish to bait the Reef Bull to the Reef Cows across the water. (Not my favorite, but you got used to it after a few tries)
Now to toot my own horn:
Heroic: Yor’Sahj and Heroic: Ultraxion down!
I did raid finder on my mage this morning, and won my chest piece from Ultraxion for my two piece tier bonus.
Dayum!!!
Gratz, my friend!
Oak?
Can I please ask you to take a look at page 2 of the guild vault and look at the gear I’ve saved there?
This is mostly stuff I could not auction off.
I didn’t know what to do: keep it or vendor it?
Thanks
Q
Dropped you a note ingame, but ran out of space.
All of the grey items should be sold to a vendor—unless you want to keep “Wolk’s Blunted Shiv” (something like that) just for fun. Grey items are worthless to players, but get a little coin when sold to vendors.
The green or blue items could be useful if someone is leveling an enchanter–they could disenchant them for materials. Or, I suppose, if someone in the guild hits the right level, they might use those items. However, green and blue gear is so easy to get, there’s not much point in saving it for levels below 85.
The bandages can probably be vendored. I don’t know f anyone even uses them anymore. Healing with food is faster.
The cloth will probably sell pretty well on the AH.
However, at the moment, there is lots of room in the guild bank, so there’s no real urgent reason to get rid of anything unless you just want to raise some coin.
Hey, Oak
I did get the note and have already begun to remove and sell the items you mentioned.
Thanks!
Q
Article in PsychCentral newsletter…tell us something we didn’t know, right, Quasi?
World Of Warcraft Boosts Cognitive Functioning In Older Adults
Right, jayjay!!! :)
Hey, can I be considered a “pioneer” of that?
Thank you very much for the link!
Q
…please add one under your account."
This popped up under my real name (Bill) and I’ve never seen it before. If they don’t have a license, how in the hell am I playing the game?
Anyone?
Thanks
Q
Was this visiting the worldofwarcraft.com website? Sometimes they have weird battle.net related issues, especially on maintenance days. If that’s the case, the problem seems to go away after a bit.
If it’s trying to log into the WoW game itself, no I haven’t seen that before.
Dondra recently installed 7 on her machine. As a bonus she received 2 discs (one a 32 bit and one a 64) to use on another computer: mine.
My machine, even though it’s a 64 bit, can play a 32 bit game (Which WoW is), but it’s been so long ago, that I can’t remember the steps, and I believe it was mostly trial and error anyway.
I run Google Chrome now.
Here are the specs:

I also contacted Blizz and asked them, and this is the answer I received:
“Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment. The 64 bit version of Windows 7 is going to be what you want to install. We are, however, unable to assist in the upgrade process. You will want to refer to the directions included in the disc box or contact Microsoft for assistance.”
Thanks, guys
Quasi
.
Yes, it was the community site, and I CAN get into the game, no problem, but this worried me, because shouldn’t they HAVE the license, if I downloaded Cat from them?
Thanks
Q
They should and do have your license, there’s just a temporary glitch preventing the community site servers from realizing this. I’ve seen this before, and vaguely remember the problem taking a few hours to go away, with no corrective action taken on my part.
That’s weird! The 64-bit WoW client is in testing and actually breaks with the newest patch unless you remove it and reinstall a different version.
Quasi, I would use the 32-bit WoW client for now.
I wrote back:
Recently I sent you a request to help me with the install of which version of windows 7 I should install to play WoW - 64 bit or 32 bit?
You wrote me back stating: “Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment. The 64 bit version of Windows 7 is going to be what you want to install. We are, however, unable to assist in the upgrade process. You will want to refer to the directions included in the disc box or contact Microsoft for assistance.”
But here in the previous section you state that the 64 bit version will not run with patch 4.3.3.
Please clarify.
Thanks
==================================================
kushie, what’s a “client”? My machine is a 64 bit machine right at the beginning. If I install the 32 bit version of W7, will it run everything it needs to?
Thanks!
Q
And her’s what they answered:
"There’s been a little miscommunication here I think.
The previous rep was suggesting that you install the 64 bit version of Windows 7, as that seems the most compatible with your system. It will also run WoW just fine.
Any mention of a 64 bit version being unable to patch to 4.3.3 would have been referring to the 64 bit version of WoW, not Windows 7. Patching to the current version of WoW requires the 32 bit version of WoW. After which the client can be upgraded to the 64 bit version again.
However, all of that is really unneccessary to know. the 32 bit version of WoW (the regular client, and the one that is installed from discs or the regular digital download) runs just fine on the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
So, to recap: Install the 64 bit version of Windows 7. Then proceed with installing and patching the 32 bit version of WoW just like regular, and you will be all set. :)

So what do I do, guys? I don’t wanna mess up my WoW playing.
Thanks
Q
Install WINDOWS 7 64-BIT VERSION.
Then install WOW 32-BIT VERSION.
The “client” is your copy of the game. It’s called that because it connects to a “server”. It’s network terminology - any software that only works by connecting to a server is called a “client”. So your Web browser is a “client”, your e-mail software is a “client”, and your copy of WoW is a “client”.
On the other end of the spectrum, standalone, single-player games that you play by yourself without connecting to a server are just “applications” not “clients”. Same with any other program that doesn’t require a server to work; Photoshop isn’t a “client”.
ETA: Clients are like telephones - your telephone is technically a “client”, because before it can talk to other telephones, it has to connect to a switchboard somewhere. The switchboard is basically a “server”. You can’t just hook up two telephones with different phone numbers and talk to the other person; your phone has to contact the switchboard and ask it to connect to the other phone.
You don’t need to worry. Higher-bit operating systems (Windows 7, in your case) can run lower-bit software with no problem. So if you’re using 64-bit Windows, you can run 64-bit WoW or 32-bit WoW (but the 64-bit WoW will be better). But if you have 32-bit Windows, you can only run 32-bit WoW; you can’t run 64-bit WoW.
So the advice to upgrade to 64-bit Windows is good advice, because it will be better all by itself. You can still run your current version of WoW 32-bit with no trouble, and you’ll be able to use the 64-bit WoW when it becomes available.
Awwww-RIGHT!
That’s what I’ll do then!
Thanks, jay, kushie and Rik (I bought the wrist guards for Wolkie, btw)!
Q
Sorry, Quasi! I thought you had already decided which version of Windows to run and you were asking that if you installed 64-bit Windows 7 if you should install the 64-bit WoW client.
Kushie,
Nothing to be sorry about! I’m just glad I have you guys looking out for me.
I’m getting ready to start the install in just a few minutes. Right after I recover from reading that Davy Jones of The Monkees died today!
