Can’t believe I didn’t upgrade to 7 all these months because I failed the first time and didn’t want to screw up my WoW playing! THAT is how important it is to me.
So what differences should I be looking for, guys?
And thank you Quasi, for finding this out. I’ve got a new computer on order that’s coming with the 64-bit version of Windows 7; now I know that I shouldn’t have any
problems with installing and running WoW.
Kudos to Blizz in general; WoW was working with Win 7 pretty well very soon after 7 hit the markets, and they worked off the problems (a lot of which where installer/patch tool related) pretty briskly.
A wow install on a fresh win 7 box is pretty snappy and plays very well. I’ve been happy with mine for over a year now.
Well, I got a chance to try Heroic Ultraxion as a fill-in with Flightless Bird’s guild last night. We did not succeed, but I had a great time trying. There were even a couple failures that were not my fault!
I like to think of myself as a fairly quick learner, but it took me a bit to get a handle on the Fading Light debuff. First, there was learning at the intellectual level that you don’t phase out immediately upon getting it, and then there was getting twitchy reflexes under control. All while trying to dish out as much damage as humanly (orcishly?) possible.
The LFR is a great option, letting everyone experience the Death Wing fight if they care to, but I can clearly see the appeal of organized hardmode raiding. The degree of difficulty makes everything more intense, and you miss out on the delightful PuG interactions (AFKers, griefers, trash talkers, etc.).
Kudos to KA for the ride along, and not being too hard on the new guy who has trouble figuring out one button.
Yeah it was an off-night for a lot of us. I even died to normal moving ice on Hagara:(
But it was great to have you with us. On Ultraxion, if you want to macro that button so you don’t have to mouse-click it, you can use:
/click ExtraActionButton1
We’ve been struggling with H:Zon’ozz but we think we’re getting closer (at least making progression). That would give us 4 Heroics and the lead on Cairne-Horde. Heroics are tough, but I find it fun, though I’m not sure I’ll be doing this through MoP. It feels like the kinda thing you do for one xpac. As long as I can do LFR and maybe normals, I’ll be happy.
No, the glyphs you buy in the AH are ready to use. Just right click them to learn them, like a recipe. If that doesn’t work you have probably learned that particular glyph before.
You only need to learn each glyph once. After that, you can swich between the glyphs you know using dust of disappearance. You can buy that for 10g from an inscription trainer (in Stormwind, because you are exalted there. In other places it would cost 12g 50s.) Or you can buy it fom the AH, if you fnd a better price there.
Once you’ve right clicked the glyphs to learn them, you’ll find them in a list on the right of the glyph screen. If you have an opening for the right type of glyph, you can then just click it and click in the circle where you want to place it. You can have three of each type (Prime, Major, and Minor) active at a time on a level 85.
Yeah, Oak, I was gonna ask about how to get those things into their holes. Also I DO have that vanishing powder in my bank bags should I ever need it. One of my in-game friends looked at us in the Armory and recommended the changes I made, and I guess that powder is used to erase a weaker glyph to place a stronger one over it. Dunno why you can’t just click on it and let the weaker ones go to your backpacks.
On another topic: tonight in the TB battle, I slowed down a bit, hung back a bit, and actually took the time to read our party leader’s instructions to go after and kill the other sides’ healers. This is something I haven’t been doing (identifying the enemy’s profession, I mean), so I’m making notes pertaining to this, and am hoping that with the repetition of WATCHING for these players, I can actually be of some use other than just charging in and dying.
Is there an easier way than to write them down? Are they marked some way in that green grid?
Incidentally, my party had absolutely NO healer. I have my first aid bandages, but they would not have helped anyone. So we lost.
The thing about healers is, even if you can’t kill them, you can keep them busy healing themselves instead of their teammates, and that’s a good contribution.
Any shaman that isn’t casting lightning or charging into melee (I think–dunno much about shammys)
Any paladin that isn’t in melee.
There’s a choice under the display tab in your option menu that will let you show target castbars. Turning that on will help identify healers…as will the show target of target choice. Healers will be mostly targeting people on their own team.
3:42 am Eastern Time in Hellfire P. Something definitely weird is going on with the game as i write this. No way to mount, when I run it looks like I’m swimming. No one in Honor Hold to interact with NPC-wise. Cannot hearth out. it just keeps making the rushing noise, but nothing’s happening. Trying to put in a ticket, but can’t send it, tried to log out, then quit, but the game won’t let me do either one.
Yes…HHTD is a great addon for any DPSr in PvP…sometimes helps in PvE too…I love chasing a healer for 2 or 3 minutes trying to get away from me…it totally annoys the crap out of them.
My new raid team (a tiny, casual guild) downed Warmaster Blackhorn on 10N last night! I realize this isn’t a big whoop to more established guilds, but it’s a major achievement for us, since we’re tiny enough that occasionally we have to pug a spot if someone can’t make it.
Blackhorn P1 is pretty damned chaotic, I’ll say that. It took us maybe 3 nights to get the add waves down, but once we got to Blackhorn P2, it only took a couple tries before he fell over fairly easily. I can’t wait to see how we do on Spine/Madness.
I’ve been wanting to show y’all Wolkie’s new gear, but can’t make the prnt scrn button work to copy and paste in Paint anymore. All it will show is my desktop.
Grats! New kills are always a blast, no matter what level.
Get ready for a new level of chaos on Spine (at least I always find it pretty hectic). Madness is less, well, “mad”, but very very long… I really do hate that trend in final boss fights where the hard part is at the very end of a 10-15 minute marathon. Nothing more fun than repeated 8 minute strolls followed by hectic wipes…
Well after a couple weeks of wipes we finally got Heroic:Zon’ozz down! Woot!
This makes KA the leading Horde Guild on Cairne and 8,675th globally (According to wowprogress). Not mind blowing, but still amazing!
It took a returning dps leader to get him down, which I didn’t help by bringing up the rear dps-wise. I’m a bit stuck being arcane for the 3% damage buff.
But I think I’m only bringing up the rear of a really great group. So maybe it’s not as bad as I think.
