New Year's Resolutions for *2006*

Forget next year’s resolutions – how’d you do on the ones for this year? (Warning: serious bragging ahead.)

I made three:

  1. Resolved: Lose 20 pounds. Achieved: Lost 15 pounds. Success rate: 75%.

  2. Resolved: Get a new job. Achieved: Got my dream job, working with smart, competent, and really nice people, for incredibly supportive bosses, at a salary basically twice what I was making before –   . Success rate: Hell, let’s call it 200%.

  3. Resolved: Not get my heart broken (unlike both '05 and '04). Achieved: My heart is intact. This in itself would be worth 100% – but I had dinner with the guy who broke my heart big-time in '05 a couple of weeks ago and he asked whether I’d be willing to consider getting back together with him – and I said no. So let’s call that 125%.

Absolutely the most successful year I’ve ever had on resolutions – I need to decide what to unleash this powerful mojo on for '07.

You got me beat.
Resolved to do my 2004 and 2005 taxes. Didn’t. I think they aren’t bugging me because I could get a few bucks back even with the standard deductions.

Resolved to finish all my office paperwork, especially financials during this week while the staff took forced vacation. Am here instead procrastinating.

I resolved to drink more and generally have more fun. Done!
