We’ve got less than three weeks to go until 2003. It’s time for the glorious ritual of setting yourself near-impossible goals in order to begin the new year with a sense of fresh ideals and the prospect of inevitable failure! Woo!
Here are my aspirations for 2003, in no particular order:
[ul]
[li]Finally move back to London[/li][li]Start going to the gym again[/li][li]Continue to track my finances and save money[/li][li]Apply for emergency call operator job with the London Ambulance Service[/li][li]Be good to myself[/li][li]Continue not smoking[/li][/ul]
There we go. Just four things, and they’re actually not completely impossible. I’ve had quite a good 2002 and I’m in a much better place than I was this time last here. So it’s looking good. Here’s to 2003 and more goals achieved.
As for me, I haven’t really decided much. I’ve got a couple of ideas, but they’re more “wish-upon-a-star” type things. I’m focusing on things that I’d like to do rather than things I want to stop doing, the whole thing becomes much more positive that way, and thus easier to accomplish.

[li]Spend more time getting to know some friends in particular. [/li][li]Seriously decide what direction I want to take after high school and take steps toward making that happen. [/li][li]Have good things happen to me romantically, even if that isn’t a relationship. [/li][li]Smile more and talk to people I don’t know. [/li][li]Begin working out on my brand new Gold’s Gym Total Body Workout! and get some seriously toned abs and a knockout ass [/li][li]Give out compliments more often. [/li][li]Commit my time to things that benefit other people more often.[/li][li]Give people rides home more often. [/li][/ul]
That’s all I can think of for now, but there’s more. I think if I make it too big there’s no way I can do it all, but then I think that the more things I put on it, the greater the chances that I’ll do many of them. I think I’m going to make a nice list and tape it to the inside of my locker so that I see it and read it every morning and every afternoon, and hopefully a few times in between.
Read all the way through Ulysses (of course, with support!).
Finally do something about my horrific eating/exercise habits. Also, sort out some medical things I’ve put on the backburner for too long.
Get a job outside of the house.
Catch up on my daughter’s scrap book. The last even was Valentine’s Day 2001 so I have a lot to do!
I am going to learn to read music/play the piano - not with a view to anything professional, just want to understand something that is second nature to so many of my friends.
