New York City, Prepare to Be Be-Sieged!

It seems to be the time for announcements, so here’s mine.

On Sunday, July 10th, my choir’s going to be singing in two churches in New York City. We’ll be arriving sometime on July 9th and returning on the 11th. One of the churches, I think, is St. Thomas Episcopal in Manhattan; I’ll post other details as they become available.

Folks, I’d love a chance to get together with some of you if I can. They’re leaving Saturday night free, and I have promised an old friend of mine that I’d finally meet his partner that weekend, but if we can set something up, that’s be great. There are a lot of you folks I’ve come to know and admire.

I’m also thrilled about the chance to do this. I grew up on music, but my father always told me I couldn’t sing, so the chance to sing good, glorious music in a setting like this is a dream come true. It’s even better than singing the Messiah the Christmas before last.

It’s going to be a busy, wonderful weekend, but I’d love to meet you if I can.

St. Thomas on 53rd and 5th? Very cool church, with all sorts of historical and literary significance.

You don’t know me, but if I’m around that weekend (and why wouldn’t I be?) maybe you will.
