It’s possible I could make it. But I don’t think I post consistently enough for anyone to know me. I kind of feel like the new kid.

They were a super bunch of people!
Friendly, hospitable - and one even asked me to explain cricket*.
I made new friends that day.
*After a while, this unfortunate person was allegedly asleep (their mouth was open; their eyes were shut and they were snoring).
But since this is a standard reaction to me discussing cricket, I just carried on. Wonderful chaps, Americans.

There’s probably only two posters on the entire board who I have a sense of who they are from remembering what they posted. Names just don’t register in my memory for some reason. Now if we had avatars…

Never does any good of course: I’ve had cricket explained, with charts and diagrams, by Aussies, by Kiwis, by mad dogs and Englishmen, and it all wooshes over my head. I think you folks need to get new pedagogicial tools–I’d recommmend getting a solid knowledge of American baseball, and carefully determining the differences, the equivalent terms, the utterly foreign elements, and taking it from there. I suspect that would be a methodology that would communicate to us dumb USers.
The lack of a “foul” territory is one that baffles us, for starters. We will review this on Saturday. Bring charts and diagrams. Don’t bother bringing pie to Junior’s, though. (Coals to Newcastle, doncha know?)

I used to have that problem but I’ve now reached a state where I can remember some people and associated information about them (yourself being one of them my dear jackdivinci ), but I certainly don’t know everyone. I agree avatars would be useful if only because it’s a second piece of information to assign to someone.

Well I’m now in Obama country - great to be here but the jet lag is a bit of a bitch. I’ve been up since 4am my time after 6 hours sleep and it’s not 10.30pm my time. Want to sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep!

Seriously though, how is this going to work? Are we all going to stand outside and congregate until we hit some critical mass and then go inside? Are we going to try and get a table for an unknown amount of people? Will it be 7pm actual time or 7pm QST?

My husband and I were going to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art tomorrow. So perhaps we can drop by after we’re all done getting cultured and everything.
ETA: So is this place actually in Times Square or is that some kind of horrible name meant to psychologically destroy people who don’t know their way around New York? I have no idea where I’m going.
Juniors is on West 45th between Broadway and 8th Avenue. Very easy to find.
I think the best thing to do is for me to get a table for about 8 people and bring some signs to put down. I’ve linked my photo upthread so people will know what I look like, and if anyone wants my mobile number just PM me (jackdavinci I’ve sent it to you already so you should be okay).
I’m always very punctual so will definitely be there for 7, or slightly earlier even.
