For how to start a dopefest, I have some hints
here. Some of those are specific to our area, but some are just generally good ideas.
Our group gets together quite a bit, sometimes formally, sometimes informally. We’ve put together dopefests in a couple of hours and taken a couple of months to put them together. As best I can tell, there are always at least 2 or 3 dopefests in the planning stages.
As for RL friendships, we have a core group that I consider very good friends - we help each other, and get together for fun just on a phone call. And I have people I consider good friends that I met at out-of-town 'fests. Hi Dave!
Of course, rjk and I are another doper couple that met at a dopefest.
Hmmm - I’m now entering my third year in Mass and I have to agree with you, people here are rude bastards. But if there’s any Dopefest planned in MA or Boston I’d be there, although I have a low post count so I guess I’d have to share a kidney or something.

I have a low post count too but I don’t know if they’d want any of my organs… they’re sorta broken. Alas…
I might go to a dopefest but that all depends on me finding a sitter! I just moved to the Mass north shore area (motto: everything costs more!) and so the people I know to leave my munchkin with are few 
The Masacree of our Own thread is still in the early planning stages for this spring. (not even the date is firm, although it is looking late Aprilish, or Mayish.
This is a dopefest with a difference, though. Power to the people, into the streets, up against the wall motherfather! You know, that sort of thing. I am hoping for dozens of people.

It’s not that we’re unfriendly…it’s just that we’re unorginized. For such a major city, we suck.
In the next month or so, we should really try to get something together. Either that, or we can wait until March, and all go get smashed to celebrate my 21st birthday

Hmm… maybe we could have a EuropeDope at some point? Anyone? I’m not too good at organizing these kind of things, but if someone took on the task, I’d definitely be there.
Ah, just what I was about to ask. I’m sure I’ve seen stuff about London, Dublin and somewhere in mainland Europe before but I can’t remember.
I know there are/have been a number of EuroDopers maybe there’s one already in the offing.
While I’m here has there ever been a Scottish dopefest (ScotDope?) ?
