Wow, I know none of these people… I’m just shocked. Which one’s playing The Great Leslie? No, wait, that was The Great Race.
Great. That’s just what the show needs, more stunt casting.
On the plus side, I’ve only ever heard of one of these people, so it’s not like it’s a celebrity stunt casting season to ME…
I only recognized one name, Kurt Gibson, until I realized the guy I remembered is Kirk Gibson.
OK I’m officially old I guess because not only do I not know who any of them are, I’ve never even heard of their you tube or gaming sites.
Seems to smell of desperation. The current season is only halfway done. This announcement is months earlier than any other that I recall.
They must be losing viewers in the desireable demo left and right.
Moving from Sundays (where it was propped up by the NFL) to Fridays pretty much cut the audience in half. This effect was immediate, and has remained consistent ever since.
‘Amazing Race’ ratings slow down after Friday move
Ratings from last week show 5.94 million viewers, so it’s grown a bit but nothing like the numbers they did on Sundays.
On the plus side, Friday shows don’t need to bring in tons of viewers to stay alive. On the downside, TAR isn’t even winning its timeslot, being beaten out by Last Man Standing, even in the good demo.
Yup, don’t recognize any of these guys. Unless Bernie Burns’ “Church” voice is his real voice, I might recognize that…
Kinda lame that we’re getting another season that’s all just young, generally good-looking people.
Tyler Oakley has over 7.5 million subscribers and over 500 million views. He has raised a ton of money for gay youth crisis projects. He serves as a host at several different Hollywood events, especially greeting celebs as they go into the events. He has interviewed Michelle Obama, and appeared with a number of other YouTubers at the White House, where they were greeted by the President. His book Binge has only been out for about three weeks, but it’s the 176th rated book on Amazon in all books. As of last week, it was number 2 on the New York Times Best Seller List.
I was thinking the same thing. The real question is how do I get out in front of this process. I don’t want to know about the cast they’ve just finished putting together, I want to know about the one they’re about to put together so I can be in it.
They don’t seem to cast “average” people any more. You have to be a celebrity or seem to have to be somewhat already notable to get on there in the last few years (or have something “interesting” or “notable” about you, like you’re doing it with a blind date you haven’t ever met before).
Fora chance to run the Race, I’d have done the blind date thing. I just wouldn’t have been proud of myself afterwards.
Yeah I was going to say that casting him to people under 25 or so now is like casting, say, the Beatles in the 60s.
