Next American Horror Story season title announced

It shall be AHS: Freak Show and will take place in a carnival.

I think I’m gonna go ahead and pencil this one into my DVR now.

As to the cast, I’m just thrilled that Emma Roberts will be back. Although I love Lange, and Bates hit it out of the park last season, Roberts was a revelation. I loved her over-the-top bitchy character and thought she did an amazing job with it. I’m also glad to see Sarah Paulson and Frances Conroy (yay!) return, but at this point, I think I could do without a bit of Evan Peters. His abilities seem to fluctuate and a little of his trouty mouth goes a long way. :stuck_out_tongue:

And the subject matter? It’s going to be set in the 50s. What’s not to love?

I hope Jamie Brewer returns as well. She and Lily Rabe do great characters on this show.

Really looking forward to this as well; it’s not as if Murphy/Falchuk need the freak show setting, so it should be fun to see the insane lengths they go to.

As to the cast, note that according to EW, only Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, and Frances Conroy have been confirmed. Denis O’Hare and Emma Roberts are “in talks” to return; no mention is made of Lily Rabe, Jamie Brewer, or any of the other semi-regulars (though I would also like to see Rabe and Brewer again).

Agree about Rabe and Brewer. I wish the latter would get more work. She has quite a bit of range and was able to hold her own with her plot lines last season. This one might be a really good year!

Some good news on the casting front: Some of the cast of Coven made an appearance at Paley Fest yesterday, and it was announced Michael Chiklis is joining Freak Show, and Murphy also said everyone on the stage would be returning in “some capacity” – which included Gabourey Sidibe, Jamie Brewer, Denis O’Hare, and Emma Roberts. Lily Rabe was not there, so no word on her return.

Oh man I can’t wait! The first season is still my favorite but the increased crazy has been a big plus. Has anyone here ever read Spangle by Gary Jennings? This is what I’m envisioning.
