I own a small computer repair business, my vehicle has graphics and a phone number on it…works great the graphics have easily paid for themselves in 5 months.
Yesterday I get a phone call from someone wanting to complain about one of our drivers. I tell him I am the owner and to please describe what happened.
He starts ranting about unsafe speeds in residential areas and how this driver came within inches of killing his dog. Toss in the obligitory “lots of people around here have computers and you can’t afford to piss them off” blah, blah, blah whatever.
I tell him hmm sorry about that sir, based on the vehicle I know who you are talking about and I will have a little chat with him when he gets in.
Misc pleasantries…have a nice day.
Guess what asshole…that was me!
I was going 20 in a residential area…not exactly speeding…why because I was looking for an address, much faster and I would not be able to read addresses.
And as for your dog, yes the one that ran out into the middle of the street…
No I didn’t stop or take any dramatic evasive action…just drifted about 5 feet to the left and kept going…no other cars on the street…no biggie.
I so wanted to just tell the guy “so your dog ran into the street and you want me to discipline my employee for scaring your pwecious puppy while my employee was doing what he should do, in a legal manner.”
For some reason it was more fun listening to the smug attitude when he thought someone was getting in trouble because of his complaint.
If I ever end up out there again. Irish Setter Pate with dinner.
My neighborhood has two dogs like that. Same owner. He let’s his two tiny wee little dogs roam around the block getting into garbage and laying down in the street. One of them has already been hit once. They’ll probably get hit again.
If innocent animals are allowed to run into city streets, it’s gonna happen, whether someone wants to hurt them or not. If it was a choice between hit Poopsie or have a head-on collision, I’m afraid this animal lover is going to have to run over your dog. And I won’t like it much, either; it will upset me to be forced into a position of hurting an animal that had no business being there.
