I think that with remaining absentee ballots and provisional ballots we just won’t know until tomorrow folks.
MSNBC reported that a little bit ago.
ETA: MSNBC also keeps saying tonight “ends it”. Russert just said “we just found out who the nominee will be.”
I’m curious.
Anyone know if she somehow manages to seat the Florida and Michigan delegates how that changes things?
Even Fox is kind of admitting that it’s over. They seem sort of dejected, but at least they aren’t trying to sell it as a fight anymore.
According to the MSNBC folks, even if FL and MI were seated & counted, Obama would still lead in delegates and in the popular vote. Hence the “this ends it” mantra – the metrics are completely against a Clinton nomination.
Obama to Hillary: Hoosier Daddy?!
Heh. Good one
So what does Clinton do? Anybody think she drops out? On the one hand, I see her staying in because, hey, maybe BHO turns up with the proverbial dead girl or live boy. Why not keep in it? But MSNBC keeps harping on Clinton’s shortage of cash. Does she stick it out for the rest of the month?
Hey, she had the nerve to claim that her “win” in Indiana was a come-from-behind victory.
My guess (emphasis on guess):
HRC does not give up.
She works to seat the MI & FL delegates.
She’s gone this far she probably figures to play it till the end if only for pride.
IF (note the big “IF”) she gets FL & MI counted she is in a better position. She will work to convince the supers she is more electable and pull off a convention upset.
To avoid that enough supers need to line up with Obama between now and the end of the primaries in June to guarantee his win no matter what happens. Even then HRC may push if for no other reason than political gain (promise her something to make her go away and line up behind Obama for the general election).
My $0.02
Down to a 16,600 vote difference. Woo-hoo!
I think Clinton’s done. Whether she concedes or not depends on what her end game is. If she’s angling for VP, then she might be willing to push on a bit to try to force that kind of concession from Obama. BUt if all she was interested in was the presidency, she’s got to pack it in now.
I think her hand will be forced anyway. I expect a bunch of delegates to jump to Obama shortly. Maybe even a lot of them. If she won’t get the hint, they’ll tell her.
Monroe is 98% in, Obama won it 64-36, a 5,000 vote margin.
Lake’s at 56% reporting, Obama up 65-35. He’s at a 17,000 vote gap.
I was just mentioning to my wife that that is the most likely outcome of tonight, her campaign money will dry up.
No, release him; I refuse to sign the damned warrant.

I think the trend is irreversible, once you go Barrack, you never go back…
Hey! No fair rounding up. Who are you, Hillary or something?
85-95 percent turnout in Gary.
This is nuts.
I cannot imagine Obama having her as VP (or vice versa).
However I agree she may well play an endgame to get some concessions. No idea what those are but she has real power in telling Obama she can pull for him or against him in the general election. She’ll get something for that…especially if she tells all of her “I won’t vote for Obama” people to vote for Obama.
She concedes within the week.
She needed another PA sized win to drive another round of contributions to keep her going. It didn’t happen. Her campaign is allegedly already in the hole. There is no gas tax holiday that will allow her to fill that tank back up enough to go another round.
Many many supers have been just waiting for the right opportunity to come out and declare. This is it. The tap will open over the next 24 hrs. She is meeting tomorrow with “her” supers and many of them will be telling her to hang it up or they jump ship too.
Florida and Michigan get seated, even as is, no longer mattering.
Now onto VP choice …
Seriously, the MSNBC crowd had an interesting point. Not Hillary but a Hillary surrogate will be a serious consideration. Maybe a governor who can help deliver a swing state (Rendell? Gawd I hope not!) or another Hillary mainstay like Wes Clark?
Ach. Deserves its own thread now that it is time for serious thoughts and lets get Lake counted first!
