I would love if this was Roethlisberger’s last game. I think he may come back next year just to avoid that.
I definitely was when they let Pittsburgh walk down the field, but driving back down for a TD of their own was very un-Brown-like.
Unless Mahomes gets traded to the Steelers at halftime I’d say it’s highly unlikely.
Ben doesn’t seem himself anymore. I don’t think he’s able to be a starting QB right now. Whether it’s age or injury, he doesn’t look like himself. The last few times I watched him play he was way off.
(Maybe he just needs a Snickers?)
Steelers punting on 4th and 1 there was cowardly and an awful decision given game flow.
Agreed, that was baffling.
Yeah, that seemed like a crazy decision. I get that coaches are conservative on marginal decisions, but that just seemed like an obvious spot to go for it.
And then immediately the Browns score, and then Pitt scores themselves. If the offences are doing well that’s even more reason to go for it!
IIRC, the NFL record for pass attempts in a single game is 70, by Drew Bledsoe. Roethlisberger might surpass that. His arm is about to fall off.
Big Ben just set a record with 47 completions in 68 attempts, for 501 yards. In a loss.
Just coming in to congratulate SenorBeef.
Why thank you good buddy.
Just operator error. The refereeing crew caught it and made them set the clock to 0:05 before the next play, which was the end-of-half field goal they showed as the next highlight.
In both conferences, the 2, 5 and 6 seeds won.
Ben has lost the eye of the tiger. I give the guy credit - his career lasted at least 3 years longer than I expected. Dude got his ass pounded for 16 straight years on that team, sometimes because his O-line sucked, sometimes because he was always trying to hang in there till the last second to make the hero play, but I’m amazed he never died on the field. It’s clear he can’t hold up to a whole season anymore. When the first snap of the game went over his head and he had a chance to jump on it, he didn’t. He just stared at it and hoped someone else would throw their body on it.
It’s time to retire, Ben. It’s time for your last game to be the Browns beating the shit out of you at long last.
So, anyone else think 6 games in a weekend is too much? I’m sure it’s here to stay because money but fatigue definitely set in for me.
Or, possibly not pounding the shit out of each other during the week left them fresher for the actual game. After 17 weeks, they should know the play book, and they can just be told what the emphasized plays for week will be.
I’m all in on wanting the Browns to win it all this year. Go Browns - you’ve suffered enough!
That’s what I thought too. It’s very possible that having no practice was actually an unintentional advantage.
I just told a buddy of mine that I wouldn’t be surprised if there were four wild-card teams within 3 or 4 years, which would make 8 games in the opening weekend. And perhaps one of those games would be on Monday night.
