NFL 2021: Week Three Wise Men

Bears offense is awful. I blame Trubisky.

Chargers killing themselves with penalties. Chiefs try to kill themselves too. Then Chargers decide to screw up their clock management. Two very good teams making mistakes, and it’s still a hella fun game.

For fucks sake holy shit fuck this universe and also detroit

Steelers getting rolled, Washington getting rolled, Giants upset…looking good.

Alright just induct Justin Tucker into the Hall of Fame right now, like, do it in the post game interview. Fuck it.

Watching the talking heads bitching about an uncalled delay of game flag rather than the play of the players on the goddamn field is a great reminder of just how idiotic pre and post games shows are.

Holy crap, 66 yards. The guy’s awesome.

The previous record was in Denver where the air is thin, so it’s that much more impressive.

Being in a dome means he couldn’t have had a tail wind helping along either.

Not to take anything away from Justin Tucker, but holy Jeesis the Lions are cursed. 3 seconds left, the Ravens only hope is for Justin to kick an NFL record crazy long 66 Yard fg to win. Of course, he does.

Watching this Vikings-Seahawks game, and prior to the snap Kirk Cousins takes his shoe off and tossed it away before starting the play, then did the play in his sock. I’ve never seen that before.

Watching the replay of the earlier game, I have no idea what Roethlisberger was thinking throwing a short dumpoff on 4th and 10 against the Bengals with three minutes to play. That never stood a chance and was predictably stuffed for no gain.

When the Browns were just hammering Fields today, it made me realize that the Bears felt a lot like the bad Browns teams in the last 20 years. A competent defense that’s good enough to win games but a quarterback and offense that just doesn’t look like they belong in the league, like they pulled some college kids to play in the NFL and were just overmatched. I felt kind of bad for them. It’s weird being on the good side of that dynamic.

The Joe Thomas Browns O-lines were never that bad, but a lot of the pre-Joe Thomas ones were.

I was just listening to the Bears post-game show on the radio; one of the analysts commented that he had the impression that the Bears were going on the same snap count for most of the game – if that’s true, once the Browns figured that out, that would have been a huge advantage. Fields got sacked nine times, only completed six passes, and the Bears had a net of 1 yard passing on the day.

They were also talking about OT Jason Peters, whom the Bears signed just before the season started, in order to get a veteran presence on the line, but who was apparently getting beaten badly today – he’s 39 now, and may not have much left in the tank.

You know what? Screw John Harbaugh for taking away from Justin Tucker’s accomplishment in his press conference.

I don’t know what is happening. The Vikings just had to burn a timeout because one of their defenders lost a shoe.

Minnesota needs to incorporate tying their shoes into one of their practice sessions I guess.

No matter how Sunday night goes, Green Bay will still remain in 1st place in the division. That said, I’m hoping to see Week 2 Rodgers, not Week 1 Rodgers.

ETA: It may be too early to call, but that first throw was…kinda spectacular.

I’m not feeling great about tonight’s game. The injuries to the Oline, the defensive inability to stop the run, and being on the road will combine to make it a tough game.

The golden leg belongs to a Corvid, lol

Big Ben is dead meat. He has a shit offensive line and he’s got bum legs. He’s a HOF’er IMO but the Steelers totally whiffed in the draft; they should have gone after a QB

So Ben was completely broken after the Browns beat him in the playoffs. I think that if he made a good run deep into the playoffs, he might’ve left off on a good note and retired. Maybe. This is totally speculation. Anyway, I don’t think he could stand the idea that his last NFL game was getting his ass kicked by the Browns, so he stuck around for another year. Which might’ve kept Pittsburgh from planning for the future for another year, and hopefully he’ll drag them down this year.

I have no evidence to confirm this idea, but it’s plausible and it amuses me.
