NFL 2023: Week 13 in a Baker's Dozen

Let’s go West Birds! 28-20 over Dallas! Eagles fans thank you… so far.

AND, BTW, what day you think Howie signs Zach Ertz? Tomorrow? Hopefully. :sunglasses:

It’s clearly because they’re wearing the excellent 1970s throwback uniforms.

Are they 70’s? This is the Seahawks jersey I remember from the 90’s sported by my guy Carlester Crumpler. Though maybe they were unchanged for all those years in between.

Edit: Yup, the team is steering into the 90’s motif and I love it.

Their uniforms were pretty much unchanged from the team’s founding in '76, through 2001. It was in 2002 when they went to a darker helmet and a darker blue.

If your resource is to be trusted, it looks like the Seahawk on the arm stripes made its debut in 1983.

The leg stripe looks to have changed subtly in 1993. So this iteration seems like it was from 1983-1992.

Well, Seattle has a chance. Because of some poor clock management by the Cowboys, they have plenty of time to drive the field to win the game.

I just want to say the 49ers have beaten the two Thursday Night teams by a combined score of 73-23.

An odd quirk of the Seattle Dallas game that just ended:

No punts

Neither defense was particularly strong, so not too surprising but still. Only the fifth time in NFL history.

And it happened to the Packers twice in the same season.

Loved the throwback Seattle jerseys, wish they’d wear that more often.

Dallas is essentially locked into the 5# seed now. They cannot move up or down. There’s a full 3-game lead between them and the next-lowest wild card teams and they haven’t gotten any chance of overtaking the Eagles.

They have a chance.

Right now the Boys have 3 losses and the Eagles have one. Philly could lose to the Niners this week, and next week the Boys could beat the Eagles. That would give both teams 3 losses. Eagles would still hold the tiebreaker, but Philly also plays Seattle the week after the Cowboys game, so that’s another possible loss. If Dallas wins out (a tough proposition, given their schedule), they have a chance at winning the division.

Eagles schedule: Niners, Cowboys, Seahawks, Giants, Cardinals, Giants
Cowboys schedule: Eagles, Bills, Dolphins, Lions, Commanders

The glut of penalties played a big factor.

Sure, the math says it’s possible. But with those schedules…it’s not possible. If the Eagles lose any of their last 3 games, it’ll be the upset of the year. My guy Tommy DeVito will need a statue built for him if that happens. The Cowboys running the slate with Eagles, Bills, Dolphins and Lions is only slightly more improbable. Even that Commanders game is more uncertain than any of the Eagles last 3.

I agree that it’s improbable, but not impossible. Eagles could lose to the Niners, Cowboys, and Seahawks. In the case, Dallas could lose one of their last five games and still possibly win via the tiebreaker. Eagles have won their last 4 games by 7, 4, 5, and 3 points…and they lost to the Jets.

This is the NFL, where strange things happen.

Like you said, they are 3 games back due to the tiebreaker. That means the Eagles need to lose their next 3 straight and the Pokes have to win out. Both are slim to none. If the Cowboys lose one game, then the Eagles also need to lose to one of those bottom feeders.

Of course it’s mathematically possible, and Any Given Sunday, but this would represent an all-time collapse from the Eagles.

With our numerous injuries, I’m not expecting Eagles to win against Niners. We usually split with Dallas each year. I’m going with three more wins for Eagles ending with 13-4.

Of course, Zach Ertz coming back to Eagles is just hours away, IMO…

Hard to fathom, but Bailey Zappe (7/15 68 0 0 in the 3rd quarter) is doing better than I expected.

The Commanders are down against the Dolphins, 31-7, early in the 3rd quarter, and have already given up nearly 300 yards on defense. Jack Del Rio’s gone, but their defense is still bad.

Steelers/Cardinals game is delayed at halftime because of a weather system moving through the area. Cards lead the game 10-3.

What kind of weather delays a football game? Lightning?
