That was an exciting game for Jake Browning for sure.
So, if the defender pushes the receiver out of the way and then catches the ball, it’s not DPI?
Trevor Lawrence left the game with an injury. His ankle was stepped on by one of his blockers. He was in a lot of pain.
That was a fun game to watch. I stuck with the Manningcast, and there was a funny moment as overtime started. Chad Johnson (Ochocinco) was the guest, and Peyton says:
Chad, while we’re doing this coin toss, I read that you said Joe Burrow is the best #1 overall pick in the history of the NFL draft. I just want to remind you that Eli and I were also #1 overall picks. I don’t really have a question; I thought we could just sit here awkwardly for a few seconds and watch overtime?
Local boy for us, played HS nearby. It will be interesting to see how he continues to play (I guess we’ll be watching Bengals games now).
Next Sunday they play the Colts. Their QB is Gardner Minshew, who was the QB of Browning’s college rival Washington State University. Jake beat Gardner in the Apple Cup, so it’s almost like a revenge game.
That’ll be an interesting game.
Browning had an incredible career at Washington, passing for over 12,000 yards and 94 touchdowns. Yet he went undrafted and was never more than a practice squad player until this season. He threw the first pass of his pro career in a September game against the Browns.
Last night he looked like an all-pro, going 32-37 for 354 yards, 1 TD, and no picks. He also had 22 yards rushing.
And it’s not a big college town, either.
At the risk of feeding a troll, I will point out that anyone who gives credence to the “hot takes” of David Carr should look elsewhere. In what can only be a desperation bid for relevance, Carr actually said that Eagles coach Nick Siriani should bench Jalen Hurts for Marcus Mariota.
Sad, because I always had a soft spot for Carr. But I guess those sacks that ruined his career might have done more serious damage. Heres hoping he’s just the latest attention seeking idiot rather than actually brain damaged.
Week 14 thread here.
