NFL 2024-25: Week 18

Announcers suck. It’s “brotherly shove” for us.

And I’m sure Love will be playing fine. He’s not injured, but Hurts may really be seeing double for all I know.

I’d like to come up with another name for it, but I can’t find a good rhyme for “pelvic”.

Very much - the attempted point was that teams got starters hurt playing them this week, and rest and injury prevention were the actual reason that most folks got a week off.

I believe it’s been two years since the Bengals beat the Chiefs, could be wrong. Burrows is a fine QB, but has missed the playoffs the last two years. Not sure why everyone thinks the Chiefs are scared of them - Buffalo is a much more worthy adversary.

Correct.

In the Mahomes-Burrows eras, the teams have met six times. Cincy won the first three: during the 2021 season, the AFC Championship game in 2022, and during the 2022 season on 12/24/2022. KC has won the next three, including the AFC Championship game following the 2022 season, then in both the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The Bengals won 5 straight to end the season. They weren’t all impressive wins, but they were on a bit of a roll.

The Bills and Ravens are both significantly above the Bengals, but I think the Chiefs would rather face any of the other WC teams instead of the Bengals.

(As you say, this had nothing to do with their decision to rest players.)

And you would not be wrong. I’m also guessing that the Bills were rooting for Denver, as Buffalo would be facing the Bengals this week had KC defeated the Broncos.

Micha-el Vic?

Ooh, I forgot about him. If he were still playing, we could have had the Michael-vic Thrust.

Peak Browns:

“Watson has two years remaining on the five-year, fully guaranteed $230 million deal he signed before the 2022 season. The Browns owe Watson $46 million in each of the next two seasons and he has cap hits of $72.9 million in 2025 and 2026, currently the second highest in the NFL. Watson has played in just 19 games since the Browns traded three first-round picks for him in March 2022. He posted the lowest Total QBR in the NFL before his season-ending injury.”

19 terrible games, three 1st round picks gone, payroll cap hits of $72,9 million the next two years. All on a massage enthousiast/serial sex assaulter. Forget draft busts like Leaf, Boswell, and Russell - this is all time buffoonery.

And every bit of it was self-inflicted.

Not even really a draft bust.

At least for Houston who got a few pretty good seasons and fantastic trade value out of him.

The Browns, however, will naturally do Browns things.

The Browns deserve every bit of that. The Browns fans who hailed his arrival do as well. The fans who dumped their season tickets or said they wouldn’t support the team when they acquired him? I definitely have sympathy for them.

Deion will never let Shedeur get drafted by the Browns. He’s already invoked “Eli” in regards to the draft. The most Browns thing ever would be to draft him anyways, he sits out all year, then re-enters the draft next season, leaving the Browns with nothing.

I wasn’t implying he was a draft bust - I just listed a few other bad signings - sorry I wasn’t clear. The NFL could have prevented this by tossing Watson out on personal conduct reasons. Money and what’s in the player union contract might bar that.
