Darnold is playing well, I expect someone will sign him as a starter next season unless something goes wrong for him between now and then.

Drew Lock had an unsuccessful stint as a starter in New York just a couple of years ago before coming back to Seattle.
I don’t know if anyone will give him a chance again, but then again we keep seeing old QBs reviving their careers again so somebody might think they can find magic for him in the right situation. And maybe they’re right.
Lock’s biggest weakness has been putting the ball in danger and getting lots of turnovers but if the last two games are any indication, he has grown out of that.

And Seattle has their 12th win in a row which is a franchise record! (Including playoffs.)
That’s also the 10th win in a row against the Cardinals which is the longest active streak for one team against another.

I think that say at least as much about the Jets as it does about Lock.
The Jets have a history of ruining QBs. With decent coaching they can become pretty good.
With Geno his revival might have come too late as time is now catching up on him.
The Vikings made a huge mistake not keeping Darnold in the belief McCarthy would be better and Darnold could turn back into a pumpkin any minute. Other teams will have learn from that.
I’m not saying he will get $50m a year but he would make an excellent bridge for a team drafting a rookie they don’t want to start from week 1 or filling in for a QB on IR.
49ers steamrolled the Dolphins, with five touchdowns on their first five drives. Brock Purdy was essentially perfect, with only two incompletions on the day, and also the team’s leasing rusher with 30 yards on three scrambles (2 1st downs and a TD).
The Dolphins are rebuilding (tanking), but it was so an impressive offensive display. The defense showed up, too. Four sacks and kept them out of the endzone until our nickel corner forgot he didn’t have safety help over the top.

My point is that it might at least give teams pause. But I believe Lock’s contract in Seattle is over this year (he signed for 2 years when he came back) and if someone wants to sign him as a starter he might give it another shot.
They absolutely should have. If they could make the Rams look that bad, they should handle the Dolphins without even trying.
They’ll get the Cardinals next and I expect another dominant win. Arizona seems a bit better than last year but that’s not saying a lot.

I love the announcers basically saying that the NFL official’s are idiots for calling Indy short on what is clearly a first down with no uncertainty for anyone who watched the replays.
Indy picked it up on 4th anyway but still should get that timeout back because they were correct.
I doubt it’ll matter but it makes the NFL look sort of like clowns.
I’ve sometimes wondered if the replay protocol requires evidence from only a single camera angle. If one camera shows when the runner is tackled, and another shows the position of the ball, can they overturn a call based on that? You’d have to guarantee that the playback from each camera was synchronized.

Well, yeah, it’s not exactly shocking that he might look like a competent QB occasionally. He’s done it before. Sometimes people mix up their personal feelings about a player with their actual ability.
The real (football, not personal 'cuz yeah…) issue is the times he’s looked competent over the last 5 years have been few and far between and not worth his contract. Expecting the Browns to get proper value for money at the QB position is a worse bet than expecting pigs to fly.
The Colts/Chiefs game is wild
Based on previous situations, New York can look at multiple angles and piece together an answer. This happens a lot on fumble reviews.
In this particular case you can clearly see where the player went down (elbow hit the ground) and where the ball was when it happened, all in one camera angle. It wasn’t obscured at all. Yet they seemed to ignore it.
It ended up not really mattering in the long run but still was a “what the heck are they doing” moment.
