They dream about 2 - 4. They’re actually 2 - 6, having just lost their 6th in a row. Brutal.
I’m glad you guys are holding out hope for the Commies.
The Jets.
New York gets their 1st round pick next year.
Cardinals make the QB change, and Beck is now the #2.
I’m begining to think Jaxon Smith-Njigba might be good at football.
Carson Wentz and Gardner Minshew as potential season saving QBs for their respective teams? Have we learned nothing over the last decade?
Still a quarter to play, but Da Bears are certainly outplaying the Seahawks thus far tonight.
And of course I put the kiss of death on the Bears.
Damn you to hell ![]()
I’m a lifelong (well for the 30 years I’ve followed football anyway) Chiefs fan, and I’m cheering every Chiefs loss.
May I ask why?
Butker and Tucker.
I suspected as much.
Speaking of the Chiefs, what the heck did Emmett Johnson put in his Wheaties this weekend? Dude was playing like a man possessed. Pretty good for a 5th round rookie.
Oops! I guess I can’t keep with their descent. LOL
Brandon Aiyuk hires Drew Rosenhaus as agent, eyes return to NFL - ESPN
It appears Brandon Aiyuk is trying to get back in the league. With his current “left team” designation, could the 49ers actually release him without incurring a massive dead cap hit? I think there is zero chance this guy plays again (he already hasn’t played football since a major knee injury TWO YEARS ago), but I’d love to know the actual administrative logistics of what it would take to get him under contract for another team. Or is it as simple as the 49ers agreeing to release him and eat the dead cap money? What would happen if he actually reported to 49ers team facilities?
I think a lot of it was the liberating feeling of the defense focusing on K9 and not taking him seriously.
By Walker III standards, Walker III was pretty close to shut down.
Rarely, if ever, are K9 and EJ on the field at the same time.
But I’ve thought all season that, until Sunday, the Chiefs were underutilizing EJ. He showed in early games what he is capable of doing. I’d like to see KC run a 2-back set every now and then.
I don’t know if it’s “simple” but the whole Aiyuk situation is just a mess.
He can’t actually “just report”. He’s declared himself out of the league. That’s why he’s trying to get reinstated. But he’s still under SF team control as his contract would come back in force.
The timing on this is no accident. The trade deadline is a week from now. If he applied for reinstatement to the NFL after that point, SF could just outright deny that request on their own.
It appears he’s trying to get his act together so he can get in under that deadline with the league and have a chance SF will trade or outright release him.
SF has been able to save some money because Aiyuk just plain didn’t report. Don’t show up, don’t get paid. Financially, it’s better for them if he never reports. But from their perspective, the 2nd best option, if he does get reinstated to the league and they don’t want to be jerks about it, is to designate him a post-Jun 1 cut or trade. That means he doesn’t play this season but it also means they’re not on the hook for nearly $60 million in dead cap over the next few seasons. They’d still have some $20-25 million in dead cap to deal with, but that’s a more manageable figure.
A trade is, of course, unlikely. He hasn’t played in a while and he’s obviously a risk to sign. And I don’t know many teams who would want to take on a multi-year contract with tens of millions in guarantees to an “erratic” (to put it mildly) player who hasn’t played since 2024 and wasn’t a top 10 receiver even then.
