NFL Conference Championships

As a niners fan, boo!Kapernivk’s interception cost us the game in my opinion.

I start to get into the NFL and SF breaks my heart! My wife

That’s true. I guess even as a Colts fan I never held spy gate against Belichick either. I guess I just assume all of this stuff is pervasive so why is (Bill or Pete) worse.

I see in the postgame interview that Kaepernick has his BEATS headphones around his neck. Really? As if we haven’t seen the freaking commercials enough already.

Thats of course true. It just does for me personally.

I completely agree.

There is nothing worse than sports interviews generally, but that one was damn entertaining.

I don’t care what kind of shit transpired between Crabtree and Sherman. That was the most classless bullshit I have ever seen in my decades of watching football. Fuck that guy with a sharp pole. I hope Manning rips him apart.

Seriously, here’s the same exchange, but with Manning instead:

“Peyton, on that last drive, you really seemed to be on it. What are your thoughts on how that played out?”

Manning: “I AM THE BEST QUARTERBACK IN THE LEAGUE AND TOM BRADY TALKED SHIT ABOUT ME AND I MADE HIM SUCK MY DICK”

Seriously…how is that different? Answer: It’s not,… other than Manning has the ability to respect his opponents and Sherman is a drug abusing asshole playing for a cheating coach that barely avoided sanctions at USC by jumping to the NFL.

Otherwise, it’s EXACTLY the same. GO BRONCOS.

Well, hell. We kinda had that. An inch there, a tackle there, a not strip sack from behind. The Niner defense broke themselves making up for Colin’s mistakes. He was running well, then made stupid mental errors. Live and learn, and go Broncos.

Go manning

I’m pretty curious to see what comes of that.

When you watch the replay you can see his head go back pretty far, that was a forearm to the head.

I’m a Seahawk fan so I’m a bit biased, but after watching both games today, I don’t see how the Broncos will score in the SB as much as they did today against the Patriot defense, and don’t see how Seattle doesn’t score more in the SB than they did against the 49er defense. So I’m predicting a Seahawk win.

I’m surprised by your prediction, honestly. The Broncos defense isn’t the 49ers defense for sure, but in games like this it doesn’t seem to matter, and outside of Marshawn Lynch, I am completely unimpressed with the Seahawks offense. I think it will be a shootout.

Which would be great as I am tired of Superbowls that suck.

Was that a reference to Hooper?

Oh, was that Sherman? I thought it was Dennis Rodman.

I started hoping for a Seattle-Denver SB around Week 10, just because of the two teams’ history when they were together in the AFC West.

That said, the way Seattle played today, I’m worried about their chances.

OTOH, I wouldn’t have been unhappy with a NE win today, since both Denver and NE are teams I dislike. That makes rooting for the 'Hawks easier than the last time they were in the SB, when they were playing Pittsburgh, one of my favorite teams from my childhood in the 1970s. (Miami was my first favorite team, from the Bob Griese days, before the Seahawks existed; Pittsburgh was the winner of the first two Super Bowls I ever watched, in '78-79.)

Not intentionally. I’m not that clever.

I do feel badly for Patrick Willis, the Smith brothers, and especially Navorro Bowman who basically gave his right knee to make a huge play to keep them in the game (not so much for Whitner, he’s kinda an asshole). The defense played well enough to win, and outside of a couple big plays (The 51 yard pass to Baldwin and Lynch’s 40 yard TD run), they shut down that offense. It’s a shame to see such great effort and skill go unrewarded.

But my God it was sweet watching Kaepernick fuck up again and again and knowing his mistakes gave the game to Seattle. Add in Harbaugh losing, and it was quite satisfying. I just wish to hell it wasn’t to the fucking Seahawks.

The referees were bad and bad on Seattle’s favor. Two of their big screwups were costly. The unnecessary roughness near halftime cost the niners a chance to make a couple off pays to get into field goal range. And then there was the roughing the kicker call. Of course they blew the Bowman fumble recovery but that actually helped the Niners, inadvertently.

From what I’ve read from before the game, the Seahawks covering the 3.5 point spread made a LOT of bookies VERY happy…

Okay…as I did with that priceless post-ALCS Joe Girardi press conference from a few years back, I went right to the source, ESPN.com:

From what I can see, Sherman was really, really fired up over the defensive stop that iced the game, then did the usual we’re-number-one spiel. Maybe a tiny bit over the line, but I’m not going to crucify him over it.

Oh, FoieGrasIsEvil, the difference is that 1. You’re talking about an entire game, not a single play, and 2. Tom Brady is on offense. Crabtree was the receiver Sherman was defending. They were directly opposed. Matched up, if you will. Of course there’s the potential for genuine animosity in that situation.

Sorry…I really don’t have a dog in this fight (really), but I just can’t ignore a logical misstep like this.

Carry on…

Man, if I got burned like that in the conference championship, I’d consider myself lucky if the worst anyone called me was “mediocre”…

Except that’s the wrong interview! You want the on-field one with Erin Andrews:
