NFL Conference Championships

I think I wore out my mute button with that hyper-annoying color commentator on CBS. So now the Lions have to wait until after the Super Bowl for Patricia to be named head coach. Oh well.

Go Pats! Not pretty at all, and Jax is for real.

Goats beat Jags

I know I’m biased as a Browns fan, but the rating slump seems to agree: the NFL has reached its most boring point in a long time.

That would be Tony Romo.

That was an amazingly fun game to watch though. I can’t imagine finding that game borung.

The result is boring. New England going to the superbowl for the 9000th time while their obnoxious bandwagon fans act like they did something to deserve it is boring.

So I hate the Patriots. They run a good organization, blah blah, so in order to protect myself emotionally, I bet money on them (money line, not point spread, I never bet point spread), that way at least I’ll feel better when they inevitably win. I should’ve bet a lot more money because it didn’t really work.

Regarding that fumble not a fumble call…anyone want to go over that for me? I stopped watching the game at a certain point (some training to do) and only saw a few replays of it postgame. For one thing, it looked like an obvious fumble and for another thing it didn’t look like it ever touched the ground. Help me out here, what am I missing?

Which play do you mean, the one where Jack stripped the ball after the throwback pass? It doesn’t matter whether the ball hits the ground or not, only whether the runner loses control of it.

That was a horrible throw by Keenum. I understand he was hit, but there was no way he should have thrown it.

Yeah, I suspect that this year’s Super Bowl is going to be a dud in terms of ratings. No offense to Phila or Minny but they’re basically no-name teams at this point. The game could turn out to be amazing, but there’s no anticipation.

The result wasn’t decided until under 2 minutes in the fourth quarter. I get it, Pats fans are, by and large, entitled idiots, Brady is an asshole, and Bellicheck is an unlikable cheat. But the game itself was pretty fun to watch. Until the end.

Oh right, that’s what I get for just watching highlights. The highlight package had no sound and I misinterpreted what happened because they went right to an Amendola touchdown so I assumed the fumble was overturned.

Carry on.

Oh look, the Patriots are in the…zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Is there any sporting event more boring than the “super” bowl?

I will say this (perhaps prematurely): The Eagles are well-coached. Assuming things continue on their current trajectory, I think the Eagles (even with Nick Foles) could be a formidable opponent for New England.

If you find the Super Bowl boring, then you should be happy that the Patriots are in it this year. All the Brady Super Bowls have been exciting, close games.

I know! Like, last year’s game was such a bore

The patriots have been in 7 Super Bowls in the last 17 years, and every single one of them was a fantastic, dramatic game to the finish. Hate them all you want, but there’s nothing boring about the game when the patriots are in it. The idea that one team having a dominating run over a period makes the sport boring is silly.

Not really true, though. When the Jags got the t/o, went 3-&-out, then gave up the TD, it was pretty obvious they were out of steam. Though it was not a done deal per se, at that point it really was a done deal.

[li]How do you expect fans to act? It’s their job to celebrate when the team wins.[/li][li]The Pats have been pretty darn good for nearly two decades. I’m not sure how you can jump on a bandwagon when the team has been winning your entire adult life.[/li][/ol]

I get why nobody wants the Patriots to win. If I were a fan of any other team, I would be rooting against them, too. But I’m not, so…

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

That was a good, competitive game against a really solid Jaguars team. The Pats are now headed for a 10th Super Bowl, most of any franchise. Brady continues to add to his GOAT resume. Sorry haters! (Not really).
