NFL Conference Championships

Heh, I was gonna ask if Patriots fans still care about winning, or if it’s just ho hum to them by now.

I guess the ones who post here are still thrilled.

I did not expect this of the Eagles-Vikings game…

No, it’s not ho-hum for anyone who lived through the Drew Bledsoe era.

And that gift of a TD at the end of the second half on an egregious PI call against Bouye is still there, but no longer matters.

I’m going skiing in two weeks. I have zero interest in the next game. I don’t care if it is “exciting” The Browns could play the Giants in a triple overtime game and win on a fourth and 95 play and I wouldn’t care one damn bit. That’s how I feel about this Super Bowl.

Out of curiosity, why is a Super Bowl between the two #1 seeded teams creating disgust / outrage among fans?

Um, how about the Steve Grogan and Tony Eason eras?

What disgust / outrage are you seeing? I perceive apathy, indifference, other stuff to do that day. And maybe some more of the slow decline of the NFL.

Are you saying the Patriots are contributing to the slow decline of the NFL?

Well, no, not really. But they may be symptomatic of it. Rumor has it the zebras collected their bradybonus this evening.

Yes, no outrage or disgust, just boredom. Complete lack of interest.

Looked like obvious PI to me, but I’m biased  I’d be interested to hear from someone who doesn’t hate the Patriots (is there anyone left?) if they thought that was/was not PI.

It was a pretty clean game all around, I thought. Very few flags, nothing that seemed outrageous either way (to me). The big flag was not that PI call, but the egregious - if I can borrow your term - helmet to helmet hit on Gronk that knocked him out of the game.

Ref celebrating Pats TD

I can’t tell if I’m being whooshed or not (and I’m definitely of the anti-Pats rooting variety.)

No whoosh, I’m not dead serious saying it’s proof of anything, but it is kind of funny given the narrative.

OK. All I see is a ref smiling while he’s pushing a player away. I don’t see anything like celebration at all, and I thought today’s game was fairly reffed, despite my desire to see a different outcome.

Yes, nothing egregious, Jaguars had 25 penalties and the Patriots 1. Nothing to see here.

Actually, the Jags had 6 penalties for 98 yards, the Pats had 1 penalty for 10 yards.

and we are winning!

Two of them, back to back, added up to almost half that yardage on just the one drive. The Patriots scored a TD from their own 15 by advancing the ball 38 yards. I kind of lean toward the NCAA rule that caps DPI at 15 yards.
