Here is a great highlight to help the NFL fan in all of us get through the summer. I stumbled onto this play on YouTube. I remembered this play, but had long forgotten about it. This is an NFL Network clip, and it is worth the 3:30 viewing time.
I am not a Patriot fan and I am indifferent to the Broncos, but this is one of the best, all-time hustle plays in NFL history.
I couldn’t remember the ruling on the field, but I looked it up and they ruled the ball was fumbled at the 1 yard line. I really don’t see how the on-field refs could have ever made a call, but apparently they did and the replay challenge upheld the initial ruling. In looking at it, I think they made the right decision by not over-turning the call they made on the field, because you cannot tell where the ball goes out of bounds.
Ben Watson, I salute you! And when are people ever going to realize that until you cross the finish line, the play/race/whatever isn’t over?
