Wow, for a game that looked over at halftime this turned into a white knuckler.
Cangrats Falcons.
I liked seeing Jones with the pick in the endzone.

Everybody does. Most teams squib it better, though.
What a game.
Thank you, Falcons! Fuck the Seahawks.
“Legitimizes the Seahawks as the #1 seed” ? God, Phil Simms is awful. And he’s paid to be this awful. Good gig if you can get it.
I’m feeling good if I’m garygnu. What’s the line going to be for the NFC Championship? SF -7?
EDIT: Lol, posted before seing gary’s post.
Julio Jones with the int. Great game. Like the praise Ryan gave to Wilson after the game, love Carroll fucking up, and it was fun to watch.
Atlanta +2 is my guess.
Well fuck beans…great game, crappy ending.
Wow, what a game. This is the most exciting playoff weekend in my memory (which isn’t to say in history…)
This indeed, and this weekend should remind everyone why they play the games. Good teams battling it out. There’s going to be a lot of crow eaten on the Monday QB shows this week.
Not that I disagree, but Phil “Eli ‘2 Superbowl Rings’ Manning isn’t Elite” Simms is calling the Houston/New England game on CBS with Jim Nantz.
That was Brian Billick providing color (with Thom Brennaman doing the play by play).
…and a lot of crap given to DBs for giving up leads to last-second heaves.
Thanks for saying that. I thought Boomer Esaison had finally fully become Phil Simms after watching the start of the Houston/New England game without seeing the broadcaster names, and remembering Grey Ghost’s comment.
Manning never got caught from behind when he was with the Bears.
Boy, that game was like a master class in poor clock management.
After the first half fiasco, I was thinking that Seattle would be better off getting the TD overturned because giving Atlanta the ball back with 31 seconds and 2 timeouts left was too much. It was.
Then the Falcons called a time out immediately after the catch by Gonzalez with 13 seconds left to try the FG. Why leave that much time?
The Seahawks couldn’t choose to have the TD overturned. And you can’t count on punching it after kneeling to kill clock. You have to just score and count on the defense to hold off the passes. The timeout after Gonzalez could have been done more slowly, but in the heat of battle, I’m OK with quick timeout calls there. Better to leave a few second left than run out of time completely.
There was a foghorn sounding at Gilette right before the half each time the Texans were trying to call a play, way too loud to simply have come from a fan. I thought there was at least a gentleman’s agreement if not a specific rule against that. Maybe not.
Belichick doesn’t abide by gentleman’s agreements, because he is not a gentleman to say the least. The Texans should consider themselves lucky that Cheatycheck hasn’t hired some fan to shoot lasers into their eyes from the stands.
There were some rumors a few years ago of various teams having mysterious problems with their radio signals during critical times when facing the Pats. A foghorn would be pretty above board and transparent in comparison.
Why didn’t the Texans go for 2? Would’ve mae it a 17 point game.
If you find any links to this I would love to read about it.
It wouldn’t surprise me.
Thanks!
