The Pack, - In.
Take the Vikes in the first round.
Take the Falcons in the second round.
Loose to the Iggles in the Conference Championship.
(The pack have the easiest road to the conference title game of any playoff team)
Rams will beat Seattle.
Rams will loose to the Iggles.
Iggles beat the Pack.
That’s the NFC, can’t begin to figure out the AFC.
Who gets to play the winners of week 1?
Do the Pats play the winner of the Denver/Indy game or the winner of the Jets/Chargers game?
Nice to finish the season on a positive note. Loved that final play and the decision to give it to Tiki. Do you think the audible was real or faked?
It depends. The NFL is split into two Conferences, the AFC and NFC. The Superbowl is the best AFC team against the best NFC team (in theory).
At the end of the regular season, the teams are “seeded” (ranked) in each Conference. The teams with the best records in each division get the top 4 seeds in each Conference. Of the remaining teams, the two best teams in each Conference go into the playoffs as wildcards, as follows:
AFC Seeding
DIVISION CHAMPS
- Steelers
- Patriots
- Colts
- Chargers
WILDCARDS
5. Jets
6. Broncos
NFC Seeding
DIVISION CHAMPS
- Eagles
- Falcons
- Packers
- Seahawks
WILDCARDS
5. Rams
6. Vikings
This week, the #6 seed plays at the #3 seed, and the #5 seed plays at the #4 seed. The #1 and #2 seeds stay home. Next week, the #1 seed will host the lowest seed available, and the #2 seed will host the remaining team. Basically, the highest seed will always play the lowest seed available, but we won’t know which team that is until the games are played.
Based upon this formula, what we do know is that if Denver beats the Colts, then Denver must play at Pittsburgh. If Denver loses to the Colts, then Pittsburgh will play the winner of the other wildcard game.
Patriots - Still champs till someone beats them
Poo ass Jets/Vikings make me a sad panda. Saints were hottest team in NFC too.
I will be pulling for the Eagles to reach the NFC Championship Game and lose. Then I will be pulling for the NFC in the Superbowl (even if it is the Iggles). (Yeah I am that shallow)
I like Manning and love the current Steelers storyline – as well as respecting the hell out of Marty S in SD – so in that order I will be pulling on the AFC side and “can live with” the results of one of them ending up champs.
I am a Washington fan : they did not make this year but here is betting a better story next next .
Packers - In
Ravens - Out
Go Steelers! Yep, my team is in.
Real, all the way. It was beautiful…positively Peyton-esque. You could see the safeties backing up and spreading out, getting ready for another throw to Tyree. I started screaming “Change the play! No one is covering up the middle! Hand it to Tiki!”
Glad to see that the kid listened to me.
By the way, all, make sure you get’cher Super Bowl picks in here!
I just hope the Vikes beat the pack. Anything beyond that is frosting.
Not that I expect anything with the way the Vikes have been playing. But I’m a softy, and they can gain redemption from me pretty easy. Usually all I need is an offseason to get the bad taste outta my mouth and start rooting again.
Go Vikings!
Woo Hoo! Go Chargers!
I think it was too gutsy a call for Peyton to make. I think that the decision to even run a play with only 11 seconds left meant that Tiki was going to be the go-to guy all along. They were in a position that if the play failed only an incomplete pass would allow a chance to tie with a field goal. I need to check out SI and see if they’ve talked.
Son of a bitch. And we play the Packers, too. Dammit.
I guess I’m glad my Vikings made it in, but not with the way they did it. As I’ve said before, what I wouldn’t give for them to win a game. Take control and win it. Losing 7 of the last 10, indeed.
C’mon guys, now that you’re in, play like you mean it. Play like you want it. Do me proud.
My team is the lions. I don’t want to spoil anything, so…
they didn’t make the playoffs
Course, I never really expect them to get a playoff spot. I just wait for the next new way they find to lose, such as the bungled snap. Maybe someday…
Nope. The Jets lost, so if they’d just beaten the Steelers, they’d have made it. Still a great season for Buffalo, though.
Damn you Rams…
…and you too Jets for not winning.
«Ðëëp¤F®ïêd»™ - perhaps the world’s only CA Bay Area Saints fan.
Um,
Well, the 49ers tied a record for their worst season ever, and the Raiders came close, so no, neither of the teams from my area are in the playoffs!

I’m not much of a football fan, but I do kinda follow the Packers.
I thought they might do well, but then they had that bad losing streak and I had all but given up but then they started winning. The fact that they won the division says more about how bad everyone else is. (I mean it is pretty sad when 8-8 teams make it)
They will win against the Vikings IF they have the ball last, don’t think they will make it very far after that. (unless other teams start eating those suspicious cheese packages)
