NFL Predictions - Week 10

Hurray!! Got away from that ol’ 9-5 rut to go 10-4 last week. It puts me at 89-39 overall, and back to my rightful place above the “experts” at the Sporting News. Thankfully there’s a few lollipop games this week:

Ravens 17 at Bengals 6 (Sorry Corey, no records this week. And yes, the Ravens will score a TD on offense, they’re still the Bungles after all…)

Bills 24 at Patriots 20 (…and the Patriots are still the Patsies.)

Cowboys 23 at Eagles 17 (I reserve the right to change this pick if the Cowboys decide to go with Concussion-boy over Cunningham.)

Colts 27 at Bears 24 (Those pesky Bears will stick around just long enough to give the Colts a scare.)

Dolphins 21 at Lions 13 (Hopefully the ‘Phins won’t spot the Lions a 17 point lead like they did last week against the Pack.)

Giants 20 at Browns 0 (All Dayne, All Day. Brownies are in a tailspin.)

Steelers 10 at Titans 27 (To keep with last week’s trend, this week the Titans’ punter and waterboy will each score touchdowns.)

49ers 17 at Saints 20 (Where’s stuffinb been lately? Turned the corner, right? 8-8, huh?)

Buccaneers 17 at Falcons 13 (Holy Cow! The overpriced decoy had a touchdown last week. Let’s see, Star 2 – Flashlight 6.)

Redskins 30 at Cardinals 10 (Okay all you ‘Skins fans. This week I really want them to win. I’m picking them as my winner in our local stress pool, so if they lose, I lose. Go ‘SKINS!!!)

Chargers 20 at Seahawks 13 (Like I said before in another thread, it’s almost as tough to go 0-16 as it is to go 16-0. This game just screams upset.)

Broncos 24 at Jets 27 (Hey, Greise – 99 bottles of beer on the wall, 99 bottles of beer…)

Chiefs 20 at Raider 23 OT (Let’s make it two weeks in a row the Sea-Bass pulls out the game winning kick.)

Panthers 10 at Rams 35 (Rrriiinnnggg! Hello? Oh, hi George. Sure, I can fill in at tight end for you this week.)

Vikings 35 at Packers 30 (The Packers still don’t have an answer to Moss. I don’t think the teams will split the series this year, of course that’s just my opinion, I could be wrong. Hey, it’s the Monday Night game, I had to say it.)

Well, here’s hoping for another double digit win week. Your thoughts?

I hate you, Gazoo.

Gazoo - You think the Rams defense is gonna hold a team to under 20 points this week? I missed last Sunday’s game, so I didn’t see how the defense looked against the 'Niners. Is Carson making a difference already?

Your streak’s coming to an end, curseboy. The 'Skins ain’t gonna lost to the Cards, no matter how much you or my dad roots for them.

Connor - man, you’re so fickle. Actually, that KC/OAK game was probably the toughest one to pick, so I went with the home team.

Crunchyfrog - the defense wasn’t that great against the Niners (they were in it for most of the game), but nearly all of the Panthers offense is out or dinged up.

SterlingNorth - Let’s hope this week breaks the curse! There’s only 4 people left (out of 23) in our stress pool, so it’s getting close to crunch time.

Thank you for not picking the Steelers to win. Every week they’re picked to lose (by someone at least), and every week they win. I like this trend.

Jman

So true! This bodes well for 'da Stihlers. They haven’t given up a TD or a big play in 4 games (Their Defense went from 28th to 3rd in 5 weeks, amazing). They should be able to at least play The Oilers, uh, I mean the Titans, close. Just don’t give up any dumb TDs.

Here’s to your streak ending on the Skins Gazoo. I’m really lookin forward to seeing what Jeff George can do, if they play him. And I hope they do. Monday’s game was an embarrassment.

You Skins fans realize that he only picked them because he has a tidy sum riding on them winning.

Not gonna split with the Queens my ass. Not only will the Badgers retain the Axe but Mike Sherman is going to break the Humpty Dome curse.( AND if we pull that off we might sweep) If we lose we will win at home!!

We go Green Bay
We go Green Bay
We watch’em Packers
We watch’em play

Sledman - they are at home this week. If it were in the dome, I wouldn’t have made it that close.

Hey! No fair kickin a man when he’s down! Actually I was out of town last week. Our biggest problem has been defense(last week we started 6 rookies on defense, boy I miss the days of Lott and Co, those guys played hurt unlike these pansies we’ve got now), not offense. And how do you justify that score, we haven’t scored that low all season.

That being said, I’m not going to get burned by saying you’re wrong, though of course, I intend to roast you if we pull it out.

Two reasons - (1) The Saints defense, and (2) The Saints should be able to control the clock with Ricky Williams.

First off my bad…they are at home. Second…then we will win!!

Hell the Minnesotans have disappeared around here after last week I can’t scare up a bet on either game out of them.

Hey when Lott was a rookie you guys started 5 rookies on D wasn’t it… That worked out OK for you. Keep the faith…

Oh yeah…Mariucci should have been ours…nice contract extension…We’re his dream job!!

Gazoo.

You must not have seen the previous Eagles v Cowboys game this year. It was embarrassing.

There is no way in hell that the Cowboys score more than 10 in this one.

Not only did I see it, I predicited the then upset, to the chagrin of a few posters. The Eagles however don’t have much going in the way of offense at this point, and if the Cowboys go with Cunningham, they upgrade right away.

Sledman, I admire your loyalty and your confidence. But put down that crack pipe for a bit, you’re getting delusional.

Our boys have gone out of their way to find new ways to lose this year (a 40 yard run on a fake punt and a return for a TD last week? Nice special teams, guys). Now here come the Vikes, who seem to have had the Pack’s number the last two years. Gazoo is right – they still don’t have an answer to Moss. They have controlled Smith and even Carter the last couple games, but the Queens still get at least a couple of those annoying jump ball lobs every game for TDs. I can already envision Moss catching the ball an instant before it hits Tyrone Williams in the back of the head. As much as it pains me to say it, I don’t like their chances Monday, even at home.

Hopefully on Tuesday you can berate me for my pessimism.

Yeah but they have a shitload going for them on defense.

When Cunningham gets sacked a dozen times on the Vet stadium turf he is going to start throwing interceptions like it’s his job. No he’s not that mobile anymore.

He was never that accurate in the first place.

Iggles 21
Dallas 6

Philadelphia taunts Dallas for the next several days on sports radio until they realize its 30 degrees in Philly and 70 in Dallas

You can’t pick the Dolphins over the Lions, they always beat teams they shouldn’t. Last week was a fluke. They should have had four more TDs then they did. Other than that all your picks are sound, IMHO.

The Minnesotans didn’t disappear, its just that after all the Johnny-come-latelys jumped off the band wagon, it took a little while to get this thing back under control.
So now that the Vikes visit Curly Cheesebeau Field, you queezie cheeses can once again watch the Monday Night Randy and Cris show up-close and personal.
And you know where can put Paul Bunyans Axe.
I know that’s not a good example of Minnesota nice, but I not from here, I just live here.
Gazoo your the best! Keep it up!

I’m very disappointed in you, Gazoo. You actually want the Redskins to win, and you break my heart by picking Dallas.
