Down 6-0 and looking incredibly sluggish…this is the way they always feel when Gazoo picks 'em to win.
Anyone noticed how (a) Norv has forgotten about Stephen Davis’ existence again, and (b) they apparently made no halftime adjustment to do anything about the way Giants defenders were blitzing Brad Johnson without being picked up?
Yeah, I know: kinda hard to overlook. Especially when it leads to an interception deep in Redskins territory.
Norv is toast.
Rams/Panthers Game
Rams 3
Panthers 16
3?! THREE stinkin’ points?!
The “expolsive” Rams offense scored THREE points in 4 quarters. Defense plays the best game they’ve played all year and the offense scores three goddamn points.
This is the back-breaking game, people. The Rams will not repeat as Champions. They will be lucky to make the playoffs. I have a feeling this will kill their spirits and they will lose what little momentum they had.
Momentum? MOMENTUM!?!
I feel for you, Crunchy, as I watch my own team go down the tubes too, but the Rams have now won 2 of their last 7. I’d say this game actually steps up their momentum, the way the Redskins’ loss today increases their momentum, straight down the toilet.
And gives Norv that last key push toward the exit. It’s a dark cloud, but the lining is silver.

At least the Titans won today. sigh Redskins improve VASTLY on defense, and we’re on track to have a WORSE record than last year. Grrrr…
I wasn’t referring to momentum of winning games recently, but the little boost the team may have gotten from having a healthy Kurt Warner back in the huddle. sigh
I read in the Washington Times today that the Wahington Post regularly edits Norman Chad’s weekly football column (“The Man”) to remove negative comments about Dan Snyder. Chad’s column is usually quite edgy as he handicaps the games. Chad is quoted as saying that any paper has the right to edit his column before it goes to press, but that the Post basically rewrites his to remove negative comments about the 'Skins.
I find it amusing that The Post feels the need to shield its readers like this. I mean, all you have to do is look at the product on the field to see that the Redskins really stink–“Big Time.” I’m not getting my hopes up, but even my Cowboys have a chance to beat this team (again).
Before (or just after) the season started, on one of these threads, I predicted “10-6 and a wildcard” for the Redskins. Look like I was optimistic.
Yeah, for the 'Sins to get to 10-6, they’d have to step things up considerably.
It could happen, of course, but it’s sure not the way to bet.
Green Bay 28, Chicago 6.
Damn, we suck.

If Eddie Murray does what he’s supposed to ONCE, the Redskins win. If they don’t turn it over fifty freaking times, they win. This was a game that the Redskins could have won by at least 14, and they find a way to lose. Good lord. Give me a team like the Packers any day; at least they know how to win.

Boy, It sure looked like the AFC East would send four teams to the playoffs, didn’t it?
-
Corey Dillon will not close out his career in Cincinnati. Bank on it, mark my words, lock it up and store it away. Five years, tops.
-
Imagine what might have been if Denver had all these top-quality running backs just falling into their laps when John Elway was in his prime.

If the playoffs began today…a lot of holiday schedules would get really messed up. Shame on Chris Berman for flogging this dead horse.
Okay, I’ve had enough fun now. See you next week. Peace out.
Wow, a paltry 7-7 at this point, that’s horrid!
In my defense, I always get the Redskins game wrong, so that shouldn’t count ;). And by yesterday afternoon I had switched my pick on the Packer-Bear game. If you don’t believe me, just ask Sean the bartender. I advised him to go with Green Bay and the “under” and he is now a little richer, thanks to me. (My change of heart was based on the loss of Marcus Robinson, but the Pack probably would have won anyhow.)
Other than that, let’s see - FOUR 200 yard rushers? I’m sure overall league rushing totals will break records this year. Poor tackling, over pursuit, and trying to cause a fumble when you should be making a tackle are the biggest causes for these ground game outbreaks.
**I knew I should have bet against the Raiders, damnit **
On a brighter note 1 game closer to that 8-8 finish I promised you guys GO NINERS!
The Minnesota Vikings are 11-2.
Gazoo are you 11-2 on Viking games?
I’d have to go back and check, but offhand, since I can’t recall picking against them I’d have to say I probably am 11-2.
