I hope Peyton is really back. The future of my fantasy team depends on him.
My Saints are at home against the Redskins today. They should get an emotional boost from the reinstatement of Will Smith, and I guess we’ll see how productive the offense can be without Sean Payton…
None of the early games really grab me, but the late and night games could prove interesting. Of course I think the Packers - 49ers game is the game to watch. Two Super Bowl contenders duking it out with a high powered offense going up against a very stout defense.
The Denver - Pittsburgh game should be interesting too, just to see how Peyton Manning is doing. That’s the other must see game.
Unfortunately, the lamp in my big screen television blew out and I’m waiting for a replacement, so I’m going to miss most of the games. Woe is me.
I don’t think it’s going to matter much today. Brees is a great QB and the Redskins’ secondary is suspect at best. The front 7 is Washington’s only real strength, but Brees knows how to avoid a pass rush and beat the blitz.
On defense, however RG3 ends up as a pro, it’s his first real game and they’re going to be throwing so much at him defensively I’m certain there will be more than enough mistakes to hold the Redskins to at least less points than Brees and Co. can score.
While I am a Redskins lifer, frankly if they can put up a respectable showing against a team as good as the Saints I can live with that.
There seem to be so many. Indy, Miami, Cleveland, and St. Louis are still pretty bad teams, so the Chicago Cutlers, Houston, Philly, and Detroit should all win easily. But if I had to pick one, I’d go with Houston over Miami. I can not see any possible way for a Ryan Tannehill led team to beat the Texans.
It’s 2012; they just kept all the players and coaches from 2011 because if they hadn’t had all those penalties and turnovers they’d have been one of the best teams in the league.
