NFL Week 1: The Season Is Upon Us!!

Wow. The Skins dismantle the Saints and the Eagles barely eke out a win against the Browns. So much for “lead pipe locks”. And my wonderful fantasy trio of Steven Jackson, Wes Welker and DeSean Jackson combine for a measly 16 points.

And as far as the Eagles game goes: why in the hell didn’t they give the ball to McCoy more to protect Vick, especially with the picks he was throwing and the hits he was taking? McCoy ended up with 20 carries, but jeez, by the end of the third quarter they were losing by a small margin and dude was averaging 4.8 yards a carry but only had like 12-15 touches. Ride that horse while you have him!

Yeah, he had a great game. Brees, not so much. Washington secondary looked pretty decent, too. Solid win for the 'Skins.

And someone explain to me, when you have 1st and goal from the 2, and a Heisman winning power back on your roster, you leave him on the bench and throw 4 times? They finally converted, but it’s almost like the Saints are afraid to run the damn ball.

Saints Defense got their asses handed to them most of the game.

The Refs even tried to help us out, calling a clean fumble “forward progress. Non-reviewable.”

Oh well. Grats to the Skins. Way to get off to a good start.

Congrats to the 'Skins, and to RGIII who played very well.

I like the replacement refs. They never got the memo to screw the Lions like the regulars ;).

Yep. Figured something like that was up when his first interception was in the end zone. He pulled it out though and the Lions are picking up right about where they left off last season. It’s still best not to look away until the game ends.

They probably got the memo to screw the Raiders, though. That comes straigth from the commissioner’s office.

63! yard field goal by David Akers! Wow.

Akers doinks it in!!

Guess we just found out what Akers’ range is, eh?

Yeah, down to the INCH.

Niners are dominating time of possession, keeping Aaron Rodgers off the field.

Testify. Bad enough that Fitzpatrick was playing poorly. But possibly losing Jackson again?

On the plus side, Spiller had a great day.

I wonder if he could hit 65 in Denver. I’m impressed he did it at all, obviously, but even more impressed that it was in Green Bay.

I require time to process what happened before commenting.

Oh, I think we can imagine your comments. That’s gotta be depressing.

I think Drain Bead is wrong, by the way. It clearly has to be more depressing to be a Browns fan.

That’s quite a lovely score up there in Wisconsin.

This Packers performance is horrific. The defense looks worse than last year, which is hard to believe.

Amazingly enough, the Browns have been to a playoff game more recently than the Bills.

You can insert any other team in the league in that sentence and it still works.

At least Cleveland plays all its home games in the same country.

I was at the game today. I’m not sure if anyone appreciates just how weird it was.

They even threw a flag on an obvious block in the back, then waved it off!?

This is a national game with the “best” crew?
