Surprisingly? For an eighty-three year old?
(Football years count as three normal years, each.)
People can change. And teams sign all kinds of guys with character issues all the time. You’re a Niners fan, how do you feel about your choirboys? It’s professional football. I’m not defending what Adam Jones did in this game, but the dude is a straight up baller. I’m glad he’s on my team, fuck the haters.
The 49ers have been releasing our “choirboys” left and right.
Pretty cool how the 1-2 draft pick QB’s faced off in the first game. Quite a stark contrast in performance.
Yeah, and now your team sucks!
Justin Smith got a BUI while in Cincinnati. Should the Niners not have signed him then? I mean, he was boating drunk, he coulda killed somebody!
Well… yeah. Choirboys suck at football. :smack:
That one-handed catch was damn pretty by Randall.
With his past, might be more than 1 week. Especially since he stayed in this game.
With how hard he was rung, Kuechly should probably miss at last one, wouldn’t be shocked it it were 2 or more. Seemed like that was a compression of the neck concussion with I think is a particularly dangerous flavor.
Who’s the bigger goat–the coach that called a pass on 3rd and goal from the 1, or Eli for not just taking the sack? Either way, my fantasy team is grateful for that game winner to Witten…
Yeah, I gotta blame Eli for that one. Can’t throw it away there, gotta just lay down for the sack at the 15 and kick the FG after running at least 25 seconds off the clock. (I think the clock stops on a sack for 5 seconds, then winds to a 25-second clock.)
Ideally he would have pulled the ball down and run forward two steps then slid, getting the full 40 seconds run off.
The Cowboys certainly tried to give that one away to the Giants. Thank goodness the Giants left it on the table if the Cowboys wanted it.
Coolest part of game was that Brad Sham was out today so we had Verne Lundquist doing the radio play-by-play tonight.
And likely faces no suspension. The league must be terrified to suspend players now because that’s a joke. Wonder what the outcome would be if Cooper had been inured by the head slam.
It looked a lot like 'roid rage. The league should be showing their active disapproval doping, they should deal harshly with any unwarranted violence. I mean, the Bengals were already strangling the Raiders, there was no excuse for Jones to be popping off like that.
I wonder if those unnamed “league sources” are sending up a trial balloon to gauge the public’s reaction before Goodell makes another bone-headed decision.
That’s certainly not unprecedented. But if that was the tactic, I’d float out a harsher penalty and gauge that reaction. I think it looks better for Goodell to back off than to ramp up.
Rather bizarre situation with Dez Bryant needing to go to the locker room for dehydration at the end of the first half. Dehydrated after one half of a game played in a dome? For the Cowboys’ sake, hopefully he was battling a cold or flu and not out celebrating his new contract late into Saturday night.
In a vacuum, yeah. But after the Brady ruling, he’s got to be a little gunshy about suspending players - he might be trying to figure out how little punishment he can get away with rather than how much.
But if there’s no suspension for this, the scope of suspendable offenses will have shrunk considerably. Other players (Suh?) will be recalibrating their thinking.
