NFL Week 1

Last game they won was on November 6th, against Elway’s Broncos.

I heard it put another way: this season’s LA Rams have put up as many points as this season’s St. Louis Rams.

Were they supposed to be this bad? All the hype about the move completely obscured any actual discussion of team quality and prospects, as far as I can tell.

Well, last year they had terrible quarterback play, a strong running game and an excellent-but-sometimes-sleeping defense. And this year it looks like nothing has changed, except that they didn’t run the ball very well.

I have to ask: you are down 0-21 with twelve minutes left in the 4th; at what point would you think, you know, maybe we should give the second-string QB a few snaps?

I would say at least let the kid (Goff) get some real game reps, but he was the 3rd string, inactive QB.

For years I’ve been wondering why the unwavering faith in Jeff Fisher. I’m still waiting.

Because the Titans were consistently very good under his watch until they got into salary cap hell. In the mid- to late nineties, hardly anyone was consistently good.

His name is Blaine Gabbert.

And until they lost their MVP winning QB Steve McNair. McNair played for the Titans from 1998 to 2005, with some injury shortened years. Those are the only years that Jeff Fisher ever won a playoff game.

I admit. I smiled a lot during that Rams game last night.

It’s hard to run the ball when the defense can load 8 and 9 in the box because your quarterback is the 2016 version of Joe Webb.

They probably will in week 2 if the same thing happens. You don’t put a backup QB in the game if the team is losing and it’s the guy’s first start. Only if the Rams was up 28-0 and you trying to prevent injury

Fisher’s playcalling is suspect (or Boras’, not sure who’s actually in charge of it). Even if you want to put it in Gurley’s hands, ferchrissakes run a screen every once in a while.

Uh, guys… Don’t forget the 49ers Defense is pretty damn good.

Not all that hard when everyone in the place knows where the ball is going. Tennessee did the same thing to AP because Shaun Hill is a placeholder. Of course, Minnesota at least tried some misdirection every once in a while.
