As a Patriots fan, I was nervous about this game, as it had many hallmarks of a trap game: short week of prep, division rival who everyone was discounting, questionable weather, pundits predicting a blowout… And I wasn’t feeling any better after the Jets marched down the field on a solid opening TD drive.
Against a good team, I don’t think the Patriots did enough, but happily the Jets did Jets things, so now the Patriots own the best record in the NFL. Sweet!
While Seahawks @ Rams will have a big impact on the the play off picture it is the first of a 2 match series. The loser can remove the 1 game lead and tiebreak advantage by winning the game in Seattle.
That is a choice many players have to make, between being on a winning team or getting a bigger salary. Winning leads to fame which can lead to better endorsements which can lead to more money in the long run. But that’s a decision that’s going to be different for different people.
Tom Brady famously took team-friendly deals that helped build more around him, and may be a factor in getting so many SB rings.
I’m (fortunately) not watching the Fins/Commanders game, but I just saw that it is going into OT, tied at l3.
I also noted that Miami had a 4th-and-goal at the 1 yard line with 1:44 to go. Head coach Mike McDaniel elected to go for it, and the attempt was unsuccessful.
Sorry, but when you have a gimme FG to take the lead late in the game, you kick the ball. Dolphins got lucky because Washington missed a long FG with a few seconds left that would have won the game.
This is not related to Week 11 in particular do begging your indulgence.
We gave two games on TV here in Greater Boston. The Patriots played on Thursday, so no local game.
One game, on the CBS affiliate is scheduled for 1pm to 4pm. The other, on the Fox affiliate is scheduled for 1pm to 4:25pm. Why is one game scheduled to run longer than the other?
Some games start at 4:05, others at 4:25. Fox is scheduling their pregame show as part of the broadcast but leaving the same amount of time for the game.
Is this going to be another time missed extra points doom the Packers? The drops aren’t helping (granted some were hard to catch, but some were VERY catchable)
If you’re the coach of the Carolina Panthers and a chip shot FG will bring you within 2 points of your opponent, on the road, with almost half the game left, you have to know you’re not good enough be cavalier with points and try a 4th and 1. Which of course failed.
SCORIGAMI ALERT: If Tampa Bay fails to score with 2:32 to go, the resulting 44-32 Bills win will qualify. If they get a TD and 1 point conversion, it will also be one.
