NFL Week 12

Word from Houston - Leinart done for the year - broken collarbone.

Yup.

Looks like they live to fight another week. Good for them. I missed it, I was watching The Muppets with the family (good movie, by the way). I gather it wasn’t a particularly good game?

It was a pretty good game. What makes you think otherwise?

The comments didn’t seem particularly positive. How did Hillis do, by the way?

It was a fine game, no major collapses by either side, pretty physically punishing, mostly about defense. Hillis looked slow but the blocking wasn’t really there either. He did drive a pile of 5+ guys a few yards a couple of times.

It was a pretty good game from a competitiveness standpoint. Hillis was okay…a couple decent runs…but he only averaged like 3.6 YPC carry or something like that. McCoy wasn’t god-awful, finishing with 16 COM versus 34 ATT, but he did have a slew of dropped balls (Greg Little) and a pair of TD passes.

Dalton was efficient, passing for 271 yds on 21 of 31 and a TD. Benson had 106 yds on 21 carries for 5 yds a pop and a TD.

The Bengals defense scares me, especially that secondary. Losing Jonathon Joseph to FA and now Leon Hall to injury really sucks. So Pacman Jones is starting opposite Nate Clements…yikes. And our safeties are liabilities in coverage, especially Chris Crocker. Reggie Nelson is actually having a career-resurrecting season but still whiffs in coverage sometimes, then makes up for it with a big play.

Tebow just completed his first pass, 1-5 for 8 yards nearing the end of the first half. He’s setting up for another 4th quarter comeback, I assume.

McCoy’s stats would’ve been fine (and the Browns would’ve probably won the game) if his receivers caught all the passes that hit them in the hands.

W00T! My beloved Panthers won something. At this point, I’ll take anything.

MOTHER FUCKER.

Come on Hanie, shit. You need to get these picks figured out.

Well, the receiver needs to break on that ball.

BS horse-collar penalty on the return.

Martz needs to call some damn runs when they are in field goal range. Lets guarantee being up by a point going into halftime.

The Bears D has played out of its mind in the first half to keep this close. Just look after the ball.

What a depressing way for this season to change. We could pull out a wild card if we can win a few more but we should have been a lock to duke it out with GB for the NFC Championship again.

Oh well.

We’re 3 games back of GB with Cutler healthy the whole year. We were never in competition for the NFC north. With the way they were playing lately, I’d feel ok about a playoffs matchup, but not the division.

Well he is magic.

Edited: Wow, 45 yards passing this half. Guy’s on fire.

He was saying the Bears would meet Green Bay for the NFC championship as a wildcard team.

This.

Denver had a fumble late in the first half that the entire Chargers defense took turns batting it out of each others hands only to end up back with Denver on SD’s 25 yard line, setting them up for the TD.

I’m beginning to wonder if Tebow really is blessed.

Oh, yeah… I’m not sure what I was reading. I’m going to blame it on residual turkey slowing me down.

Yes, I agree.
