Despite being a Ravens fan, i’ve always had plenty of time for Mike Tomlin. He’s a great coach, and seems to be a good guy.
But that step onto the field during the Jacoby Jones runback was complete bullshit. You can’t tell me that he didn’t know where he was or what he was doing.
As far as the game goes, i thought the Ravens got a bit lucky really. They played pretty well, but they always seem to give up yards too easy over the last quarter when they play the Steelers.
The Ravens offense is starting to come around. So is their defense. I’m not sure which game you watched but the Rats held a winning lead until the twilight moments.
As long as the Bengals offense, and more succintly, Andy Dalton, get themselves off the schneid then it won’t matter. But travelling to the west coast and asking the team to beat Rivers on his turf when he has been playing so well is a tall order.
A win is a win, etc. The Rats won today. They won the Superbowl just last year. They aren’t terrible or riddled with o-line injuries like the Steelers are, and they don’t have QB problems like the Browns do.
Both Denver and Kansas City are 9-2 so far this season, although that will change this afternoon/evening. So why does Google list Denver as being first in the division, and KC as being second? Aren’t they tied for first?
There are a number of tiebreakers the NFL uses to set the playoff seeds when teams have the same record. The first one is head-to-head record. Since Denver is 1-0 against KC (for now) and KC is 0-1 against Denver (again), Denver takes the tiebreaker and is currently in first place.
Looks like Tomlin might get a $100K fine or the possible loss of draft picks for his stunt on Thursday. I really hope the Steelers are stripped of a draft pick. It’s been a bad week for stupid stunts with Jason Kidd’s soda stunt as well as Tomlin.
I think losing a draft pick is too much (and I’m a Ravens fan). If the punishment were up to me, I’d go with a six figure fine and a one-game suspension.
Losing a draft pick is a huge deal - that kind of punishment should be reserved for systematic violations of the rules by the organization (e.g. spygate, salary cap evasion), and not what was at worst a single boneheaded decision by one guy.
Now there have been huge first round busts, but have there ever been 2 bigger busts in the first round than Richardson and Weeden? Two huge busts in one go. Weeden was destined to be a bust but I think Richardson is a surprise to most.
There is no way in Hell that Cutler gets the monster contract he was hoping for from the Bears. He’s simply not that much better than “Insert random veteran backup here” level of QB.
