It would be kinda funny if New Orleans won the division with a losing record, and hosted Seattle in a wild-card game.
If they were owned by 90% of the owners in the NFL, Tom Coughlin and his entire staff would be unemployed by Monday evening. Luckily for them, Mara and Tisch are part of the other 10%.
Lead the team tied for the worst record in the NFL by 21…and lose? For their 7th loss in a row? There’s no argument you can make to keep anyone on the staff.
Who were those guys in the Saints uniforms today, and can we keep them? How the hell do we lose three in a row at home and then pull off an upset on the road?
I was expecting the Packers to lose - I almost hoped it was an away game so they would have an excuse.
It wasn’t pretty, but a win is a win - and no matter what they will end the season with a winning record.

Can somebody hire a football announcer with a brain?
The Broncos finally have a running back gaining yards, and they’re wondering what you do with him when the running backs that weren’t gaining yards come back.
I leave the remainder of this post as an exercise for the reader. (Trading Anderson to the Raiders is not an option in this exercise.)
I’m elated tonight after the big win by my Packers. I didn’t know what to expect going into the game, although I fully believed we could pull out the W.
The poor red zone execution by GB made the game much closer than it should have been, IMO. I do credit some of our difficulties to the New England defense, but we certainly could have [and should have] executed better. Something we will need to improve in big games going forward.
Excuse you, they lead their division with a 5-7 record ![]()
NFC south is terribad this year, it hurts being a Falcons fan.
Well, there’s not NO argument to be made. One argument to be made is that the Giants lead the league in number of players on IR.
For today’s loss in particular, it was pretty clear how and why the game changed. The already thin OL lost a starter midway through the game. Prior to him going down, Eli had tons of time and the Giants were rolling. After he went down, Eli was under constant pressure, including two sack fumble turnovers, one for a touchdown. Donnell’s fumble for a touchdown was its own thing, though, fully in line with the general sucktitude of the Giants this year.
Defense only lets up 13 points, offense scores 24 points, but offense lets up 12 points for the 25-24 loss. Ah well. At least they’re competitive for a nice draft pick now.
They were 4-7 when I posted. And yes, a tough year to be a Falcons fan. But still, division leaders!
Seems a tad unlikely, as things look today. Seattle looks to be in a pretty good position to overrun the Cards to take the west. If that were to happen, no way would they be visiting Nawlins.
Things change, week to week, though, it might look quite different next Sunday evening.
I know, I was just joshing you. And I’m happy the Dirty Birds actually won a game.
I’m torn between being happy we’re division leaders and sad that we’ll be saddled with Mike “I’ll call a timeout whenever I feel like it, clock management be damned” Smith.
Tell me about it! I haven’t yelled at my TV this much all season.
I’m not asking questions about the past because, well, I can’t change it. I just want to keep seeing what I saw yesterday for the next four games.
Oh, and they need to actually finish the game. :smack: But, hey, they won!
Give Rex Ryan credit. He almost won a football game without a quarterback.
Crap! Totally spaced the Jets were playing tonight. Grrr.
