Browns are gonna manhandle the Bills. I haven’t been that confident about recent games but there’s just not much the Bills can do here. Peyton Hillis is going to cleave them in twain with his penis.
Ok, the Browns-Bills game is gonna be epic. Buffalo is going to be 20 degrees at kickoff, with a 100% chance of precipitation all throughout the game. Every time a game like this happens you ballerinas that root for teams that play in a dome should just hang your head in shame the entire time.
Back in 2007, the Browns owned the Bills in a blizzard (watch the 2nd video, the announcers calls). At about 1:55 you will see the greatest kick in the history of the NFL. At one point the Browns ran like 14 straight times and just owned them. It is my favorite game ever, and I hope we can repeat it.
Can anyone convince me to not to be half my net worth at the Browns at +1? The bills have 3 offensive linemen starters out, and they’re the leagues worst defense against the run. They can pass alright but it’s not going to be a passing game. Hillis is going to line up and crush them, and Shaun Rogers is going to be flagged for a personal foul for sexual assault against Ryan Fitzpatrick, who will spend the entire second half in a rape shower.
Edit: Ah damn it, I was reading weather.com wrong. It was “tomorrow” that it was gonna have a high of 20, but it was already counting “tomorrow” as Monday. Instead it will be 33-35, which means it may be snow or freezing rain. This reduces the Browns chance of winning from 107% to 75%. But freezing rain is still more awesome than anything San Diego or any dome team has seen.
GIANTS game is delayed until Monday night, 8:00pm. Metrodome deflated. Will be shown in local markets on Fox.
It is snowing like crazy here in Chicago this morning. Gorgeous football weather. Words cannot express how fired up I am. It rained all day yesterday and then the temperature plummeted overnight. Who knows what that will do to the field. This going to be absolutely incredible! Football as it was meant.
NFL network says that the roof in Minnesota collapsed. The postponed Monday night game may even be in jeopardy. I fucking love snow and football!
Yeah. I hope I’m lucky enough for the stations here to show one of the snow games.
Maybe the Vikings should forfeit, then. If they don’t have a stadium designed to handle a snow load of 2 feet.
Haha! Viking forfeit indeed!
Maybe the football gods are displeased with their roof, and they should just take it as a sign to dismantle it.
Seriously, I think this issue alone makes me minorly hate the Vikings. They’d have one of the best stadiums to play in in the entire NFL and they decided to throw it all away. I have a hard time supporting a football team that would do that.
Does one of the universities there have a football stadium of the kind not played in by girl men who are afraid of weather? They should move the game there. Fuck the lack of preparation or conditions. Attach a snow plow to Brandon Jacobs and let him run with it.
I would like to hear Dio’s spin on how the Giants should have to forfeit due to weather related circumstances yet that Minnesota should not. Impress me Dio, I know you’ve got it in you.
Honestly, my guess is they’d move it to the New Meadowlands much like the Saints after Katrina. (And also like the Katrina game, they’d obviously have to relax the blackout rules.)
But that wouldn’t really be fair, would it? Giving the Giants a 9th home game? The Vikings would have to reimburse all their ticketholders. This whole situation is crazy. Has the Metrodome’s roof ever failed like this before? I can’t recall it ever happening. Surely its designed with withstanding a load from snow in mind.
How about they just say fuck the roof and play in the weather as best as they can? Its not like people in Minnesota aren’t used to snow. Put on a show for your fans, Vikings!
Yeah, no doubt the Eagles would have a legit gripe with that. Here’s hoping the University of Minnesota works out for tomorrow night. If it gets pushed to Tuesday (or god forbid Wednesday) that would also be unfair.
Katrina was one thing in week 2, but in week 13 in the thick of a playoff run? Insanity.
Bah, cancel my epic excitement for the Buffalo/Cleveland game. Weather.com is now saying 35 degrees and “light rain”. A shame. Still probably gonna make a big bet on Cleveland - Buffalo just doesn’t match up well at all.
In order of preference
- Minnesota Forfeits (I admit this is biased - if a stadium got hit by an earthquake or something I wouldn’t be pushing for a forfeit, so this is my hatred of domes rather than a fair rule)
- They play outdoors on the University of Minnesota
- Metrodome is nuked from orbit.
30 notches down - Send it off to some other bullshit dome stadium.
Of course I bet 4 is what happens.
Yep, this is number 5. From Wikipedia:
Yeah, and it would be yet another thing if this happened much earlier in the year and they could have been granted an early bye or something and make the game up later. Its too late in the season to do that now, and as you noted, the Giants are in the thick of a playoff run.
You’d better watch out how much confidence you give yourself going into this game. The Bills play just about everybody tough and to the wire, much like many of the Browns and Bengals losses this year.
Interesting. You’d think that after the 1980’s that they’d have replaced the roof with something solid. What’s the big advantage with having an inflatable one (aside from cost savings) anyway?
Seems like a stupid design for an area of the country that regularly receives tons of snow every winter.
NFL has just announced the Giants/Vikings game will be moved to Detroit for a Monday night game.
Man, that sucks for Vikings fans. How in the world are all those season ticket holders going to get over there in this weather, on such short notice and for a night game on a working weekday?
That stadium is going to be empty. But at least Lions fans will be able to watch football in their stadium for once this season!
Nope. I get Pittsburgh. And the late games are in San Diego and New Orleans.

Aaron Rodgers is out of the Packers-Lions game with a concussion. That’s a scoreless game so far, with great defense by the Lions, but they’re getting absolutely nothing out of that 3rd string QB they’ve got in there.
I think the Packers need to be really careful with Rodgers. You can’t mess around with concussions. They should probably put him on IR just to be safe. No sense rushing him back this season.
They’re saying that any season ticket holders who make the trek to Detroit will get upgraded to the best possible seats, ticket holders who don’t make it will get full refunds, and general admission will be free. They can probably get a decent crowd just from that.
